About this listen

In the eleventh book in the New York Times bestselling Spy School series, Ben Ripley goes on a rescue mission when one of his own is abducted from a remote Alaskan training facility.

Ben Ripley and his friends are training in Alaska when Cyrus Hale is kidnapped by his old Russian nemesis. Ben, Erica, and the others mount a rescue mission, but events quickly spiral out of control in a plot involving the secret history of US-Russian relations, a young KGB agent with skills to rival Erica’s—and lots and lots of bears.

I dont get why people are hating on Zoe this much, I mean I get some parents don’t like their child exposed to that kind of stuff, but if your going to listen to a book and then complain about how you didn’t like it, that’s very unnecessary. Also, stop saying Zoe’s gay her sexuality isn’t confirmed. Stuart Gibbs is doing amazing.

Amazing also stop hating on Zoe

Really like this book expected more from the author after all the other books I’ve read from him I said this is a mediocre back. There could be some improvements.

Dude it’s a good book but like all of the romance in the series are forced, it’s a romantic fiction book

So there’s a gay character, so what

I have been listening to spy school and Stuart Gibbs for years now, waiting each year for the next one and I’m sorry to say that this is the first disappointment In the series.

**SPOILERS**

Point A: Zoey “Situation” & Cyrus
Since I am no longer a young reader of this series, I cannot give my opinion on Cyrus’ use of the “f” word in children’s books but I was surprised to say the least. I see the approach Stuart Gibbs was trying to go with the whole Zoey story, but it was lazy and a weak attempt to include LGBT representation in the series. I have no problem with LGBT characters and I think under the correct circumstances I believe it can add a ton to a book, but the way it was introduced and developed left me with no connection at all.

Point B; Lazy writing
Did anyone else notice that this book felt lazy and undeveloped? There were too many plot holes and essential characters left out (Chip, Jawa, and not to mention the decision to shut down the entire CIA spy school operation? The unrealistic and quick coverup of a plot point he didn’t want to continue on was wild to me

Point C: Out of character behavior
Not just Cyrus and Zoey, but many of the characters definitely felt different (with the exception of Erica, Mike, and Alexander) But Ben and Catherine felt way off. The fact that Ben for one, revealed the entire operation and PAST classified operations to Tina who he hadn’t seen for a couple books now? Surprising. Catherine just didn’t feel talkative and she felt pushed to the side only showing in her exaggerated British persona.
