About this listen

J. Jonah Jameson, the publisher of the Daily Bugle, has denounced Spider-Man from the beginning, convincing New Yorkers to see him as a criminal and a menace. But when a robot attack on Manhattan injures Peter Parker's students and Jameson blames Spider-Man, their feud takes on a personal dimension.

As the embittered web-slinger faces further robot attacks, each deadlier than the last, his spider-sense warns that Jameson himself is behind them, possibly colluding with Electro, Alistaire Smythe, or another of Spider-Man's mortal foes.

Convinced that his worst critic has become a mortal enemy, Spider-Man declares war on Jameson - a war the publisher is eager to wage. But in their relentless pursuit of victory, they both risk losing everything that matters to them - and may both fall victim to the cataclysmic secret behind the robots.

So Amazing!

I really enjoyed this audio recording! It was more than just listening to someone reading to you. The sound effects and each line was just so amazing! I felt as though I was there! Excellent job and book!

Webtastic!!

The sound effects and the different voices brought my imagination to life! Hearing the difference when spidey has his mask on and off was phenomenal and the sound effects of him fighting hitting things and the thwiping of his webs... I could see it all happening exactly as described. When Mary Jane cried I cried with her, and when aunt mays voice trembled I would gasp in surprise. And of course I laughed at spidey’s quick remarks and his puzzlement about red herrings the same way I have puzzled at the saying made me happy with how similar spidey is to everyday people. I think that’s why I’m so attracted to his life stories, he’s just like us, trying to pave his own path. Maybe with a lot more danger and sadness, but he struggles in his marriage, with family, and with his students. Hearing him explain how genetics work with his students and it being pretty much the same I experienced with my AP bio classes made me fall deeper in love with the story. I recommend this to anyone how is a fan and even more so to those who aren’t really interested in Spider-Man but have decided to give him a chance. Enjoy true believers!!

Good Spidey Adventure

This was my first, all-the-way-through, audiobook and it was with my favorite character of any medium. That being said, this was a fun, short action adventure story with a kind of a generic plot. The descriptions of the action going on is done very well and the sound effects really sell what's going on. Electro isn't one of my favorite villains but he's done well here and Spider-Man's interactions with May, MJ and Jonah are executed very well. Spider-Man himself can be pretty cheesy at times but it fits the version of the character here. Voice acting was very good, even if Electro's voice isn't exactly how I'd associate with the character. Minor Spoiler, but Spider-Man and Jonah's interactions/laugh with each other were very heart warming, even if it was short-lived. The narrator had a very "Cops" feel to him but it was enjoyable. Overall, fun experience and worth listening to if you love anything Spidey related.

Really enjoyable listen

I never knew about graphic audiobooks until now. I was fully engaged with the narrator and the acting was very good throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed this

I love this

Spider-Man is my #1.
And I love this.
It may hit predictable beats (my reluctant 4/5 for Story), but this is the first Spidey audiobook/drama I've ever listened to. I loved all those beats.

Specifically, is when the bad guy(s) end up working with the ol wall crawling web head.
Jigsaw is back on the case!

Holy cow! A spiderman book. 🙄

Don’t listen to all of these people. They’re all gonna tell you why it was “really good” or “a amazing book” maybe a “must read”

Nah. Ima do my own thing.

Listen to this, and listen intently. If you don’t read this book, your life is incomplete. Lacking. Weak. Pandemonium.
It’s almost not worth living.

I beg of you, no I insist you purchase this masterpiece of a book.

All jokes aside, this truly is nearly the perfect Spider-Man book. Amazing voice talent, the story flows, and electro is white? Two things- What? And what?

The only thing I can say I would’ve not cared for is ALL the sound effects. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of them are nice, and even add to it, but also there’s music playing, and explosions and stuff that makes it a little difficult to hear the words. Don’t get hung up on that though not worth a fuss. Read it. Read it now. Stop reading this and press buy. You’re wasting time now. Your wasting my time now still writing this, your wasting Spider-Man’s time waiting for you.
ALRIGHT I’m done…. Sheesh. Took me forever to type this on my iPhone so you better read it,

Enjoy!
