About this listen

***Complete Series Now Available***

My best friend and I want the same girl. But Lace Lowell is mine. She was mine first. She’ll be mine forever. Sure, she was his friend when they were kids, long before I ever met her. But that’s in the past. This is now. I’m Warren Jinkins. War. My name is my battle cry. I take what I want. I don’t ask, and I want her.

I’m in love with two men. Bryan Jackson is the guitarist in our band, and War is the lead singer. They’re sexy bad boys, the most dangerous guys in our school. All the girls at Southside High want them. But loving two guys is a problem - especially when those two guys also love each other.

Southside High by M Mankin reviewed by k1terri

The audible version is a dual version where the male and female converse together. Michelle Mankin’s audible books are of the highest caliber of audible out. I loved it. It made the story so real, I felt part of the story. Southside High is the first book in The Tempest series. Southside high is about high school friends who formed a band and how the group went from playing at a few gigs to being offered a Record deal. Lace and her brother are transfer students to Southside high. Her former childhood friend Bryan and his best friend War both are interested in Lace, and she loves them both. All three perform in the band. The romantic journey the 3 embark upon is full of twists, turns, surprises, and betrayal as they travel towards a record deal. The three are intertwined but relationships begin to unravel. After reading this book I was ready to read all of Michelle’s other books related to this band (book: Love’s Resolution about Tempest on tour) and the next book in the series: Irresistible Refrain gives closure to the love triangle between War, Bryan, and Lace as well the direction of the band members. An outstanding read that pulled the emotions from me with each chapter. I can’t recommend any of Michelle Mankin’s books high enough! Every single book more than delivers a Rockstar romance with a HEA.

High School Romance

Bridget and Jake have outdone their narration this time because it is a duet! It is beyond seamless and gets you more involved in the story. The story is about young love, love triangle, and heartbreaks. This is a slow burn until the umm end. The characters are well developed, however, it was their reading of it that made it a 4 star story. I tried to read the next in the series and couldn't get into it. I love Bridget and Jake together and can't get enough of them.
