About this listen

Evan: They tell you that a parent's love is all consuming. I never put much thought into it. Not until the minute I heard her take her first breath. That little girl is my world. I'd do anything to protect her. My ex signed over her rights, and her family vowed that my daughter didn't exist. Now that she's gone, they want my little girl. They're trying to say I can't give her what she needs.

McKinley: I've known Evan all my life. Our family's farms run parallel with each other. He and my brother Aaron have been best friends for as long as I can remember. What they're trying to do is wrong. He needs my help, someone he can trust, and I'm more than happy to do it. I volunteered without hesitation. I should have thought about what it would be like to have our lives intertwined. I should have thought about what would happen when our time together ended and how my heart would feel when I had to walk away.

WOW I LOVED EVAN

Amy Johnson and Joe Arden just brought Evan and McKinley to life and I fell more in love with this story due to their amazing narration. I fell in love with Evan and what he will do for his daughter Lexi. Then you have his best friends little sister McKinley who will do anything and everything to help him. I loved this story so much and it was quite the journey for these two friends who become so much more. The twists in this story were jaw dropping. I highly recommend this story and author!!!!

sweet and heart warning

(Evan & McKinley): TRIGGERS: child abandonment, talks of abortion. This was a really sweet and loving story but it was a slow burn. Evan finds out his girlfriend is pregnant and she tells him right before planning to go for abortion. He talks her out of it and she agrees to give him the baby and sign over her rights. His best friend Aaron and Aaron's sister go above and beyond to help him get ready for the baby. McKinley has had a crush on her brother's best friend for years. Now that she's graduated and home from college she extends her help with the arrival of the baby. I loved this because there was so much love and support provided to the soon to be single father. Even more so when the baby arrives. The two become closer and end up becoming more. A threat from the bio mom's family makes everyone rush to come up with ideas to save the baby and keep her. That's when the book becomes STEAMY. I've never read this author before but I'll definitely look for her again.

thank you author

omg. i love kaylee ryan! i read prob 10 books a week. it's hard for me to find new authors but i love these books. i love how they are real and have a fantasy touch at the same time. also can i just say it's about time i find books that have a male and female narrator. it's so frustrating to have an alpha male hero but have a female read the part. that always jerks me out of the story in my head. so thank you thank you thank you! i hope more authors will do this

great book

Felt like A.J. used several different accents that are from completely different parts of the south and mashed them together and kind of killed it for me, however J.A. did pretty good with the accent just a little inconsistent. The story hits you in the heart and that's exactly what I was looking for.

Southern indeed

Would you consider the audio edition of Southern Pleasure to be better than the print version?

Once I got used to the narrators, I loved this book on audio. The southern accents felt a little forced.

Love this book

Kaylee Ryan is an amazing storyteller. This story of Evan and McKinley’s friends to lovers story is amazing. It will make you cry and laugh and get a little angry as well. It sucks you in from the beginning and you can’t put it down or stop

Listening. I can’t wait to start the next one in the series.
