About this listen

She's an android under my care. My secretary. I shouldn't feel this way.

Nicholas Kane doesn't have time for romance. Running his own high-profile company based in London means most women are only interested in his bank account. Skipping the heartache entirely? That's easy.

When a friend asks him to care for a rescued android, Nick can't refuse. Sweet, curious Sophie deserves kindness and peace, something he's certain he can provide.

It should be simple. Except Sophie is everything he's ever wanted in a woman, and more.

Why can't he see how he affects me?

Sophie looks forward to a new life in London, sentient and free from restraint. Playing secretary to a wickedly handsome businessman has its benefits. Nick is clever, compassionate, and more than fair to everyone he employs.

Caring for him isn't enough. As she learns to embrace her womanhood, Sophie can't help but desire more.

But danger threatens from the shadows. A new terror rises, targeting innocent people and androids alike. When Sophie becomes a target, nowhere is safe.

Given a heart-shattering choice, can Sophie save the man she loves from the unimaginable?

This is a cyberpunk, forbidden love, secret billionaire, international, cyborg AI romance with no cheating and a HEA. Each book in the New Carnegie Androids series is a stand-alone. You can listen to it on its own or as part of the series.

Nicholas and Sophie

Sophie is now in London with Nathan. The low key workaholic wealthy man. The mystery from Dominic, and Victor. The are humans having their lives taken and android kidnapped? is that the right phrases? no, Droidnapped! Evolving android. double standards of love with androids. Detective Washing and Ezra make an appearance too. Good audio performance.

Exploring Agency & Self-Determination

Gleeful Goblin Review: This was such an interesting book for me. It is far more classic sci-fi than romance for a good portion of the book which isn't a problem but I wasn't sure what to expect going in. There's a lot of great world building in terms of fleshing out the interaction and cause/effect of different social and political factions related to androids and this tension is the foundation of this book especially. There's a scene where MMC is having an internal debate about a what if scenario in which he were to have a relationship with our FMC and there's specific emphasis put on there being more judgement and scrutiny for a man being with an android woman than vice versa which is what the other books in this series have focused on. The romance aspect between our MCs is certainly a slower burn and there's a lot of inner turmoil, especially on MMC's part because he views FMC as innocent and incapable of making romantic choices. This is an interesting exploration of agency and self determination and my heart breaks a bit for FMC but I'm glad for the eventual HEA. 5/5 Stars.

A billionaire with a heart of gold!

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When Sophie was introduced in Codi, I couldn't wait to read her story. The wait was definitely worth it. Throughout the New Carnegie series, Roxie has been weaving an overarching tale about Humanity First and now there's Pure Earth? I can't wait to see how those two factions play out in the remainder of the series.
Unlike the other books in the New Carnegie series, Sophie is the first female android perspective we've gotten to experience and I loved watching her humanity grow throughout the story and how it differed wildly from her male counterparts.
While billionaires in real life definitely give me ALL the ick, I'll take all the fictional ones you can throw at me and Nicholas is no exception. He was the epitome of a gentleman and although I loved the slow burn, I kept wishing he'd get over himself and kiss the girl already!
As with the other books in this series, Sophie was a quick, enjoyable read and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Christian Leatherman is a terrific narrator and is quickly gaining a fan. Although this book isn't dual or duet narration, you soon forget that with his portrayal of the characters. And even though I'm not British, I found his accents both enjoyable and believable.

A Cyborg AI Romance!

This is the third book in the New Carnegie Androids Series, a cyborg AI romance. This is a series of interconnected stories, with an ongoing plot. Nicholas and Sophie's story is slow paced, and entertaining. I loved to see again the characters from the first books in the series. This series is original and captivating. Christian Leatherman did an excellent job with the narration. If you like cyborg AI romance, this series definitely is for you. A unique take on the New Carnegie Androids Series

TLDR: This audiobook is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars all around. The story is a beautiful mix of cyberpunk goodness, forbidden love, and gripping suspense with tender spice and steamy love scenes - all expertly narrated.

This is the first New Carnegie Androids romance book to feature a female Android as the love interest and I am HERE for it. I loved the new perspective the author Roxie brings to this book as we follow Sophie from her issues in the U.S. to merry England as she discovers her newfound freedom and humanity.

With its intriguing storyline and skillful narration by Christian Leatherman, this audiobook is a treat for fans of androids and anglophones all over. The bevy of accents thrown at the narrator Christian were handled with expertise and grace. His voice for Nicholas….SWOON. Christian’s ability to seamlessly transition between accents adds a layer of authenticity and richness to each of the characters. He gives each character a distinct voice and personality.

Roxie’s writing truly brings out the vulnerability and emotion of her journey of self discovery. Christian captures the essence of Sophie so well as she navigates her budding freedom and desires. The complex dynamics of Nick and Sophie’s relationship are expertly written and portrayed. Christian the narrator brings life to the evolving emotions and desires between the main couple and the obstacles they face. I loved this addition to the New Carnegie romance series and I can't wait to hear the next one!

Love Know no Bounds!!!

Sophie reminds you of a child being loved for the first time. Nick is such a workaholic that meeting, seeing and taking care of Sophie makes him see that he has been missing out on life.

Bringing Sophie into his life he find what he has always dreamed of - love, acceptance, and real acceptance.

I am soooo into this series... Roxie McClaine is onto something.

Thought Provoking

I loved this book when I first read it and my feelings haven't changed by listening to it. It was the latest in the series but first to feature a female android, Sophie. Nick was her person. It was a fascinating take to see how a male human was perceived vs a female human when they took an android partner. The rising evil threats are getting worse each book. The narrator per usual was AHMAZING. I love his voice 3000.
