A blessing for my weary heart..

I have heard Joni share a lot and read some of her books prior to this one. I love hymns and most churches I've been to and listened to sing them way to seldom. I find this deeply disappointing. This book was all I thought it would be and especially enjoyed Joni reading and singing.. could not be any better in my opinion. Without doubt will listen more times as well as read the book I've purchased. I've also been reading it to my 91 yr. old mom as well who deeply appreciates it.

Songs of Suffering a most beautiful truth

There are no words really to explain the beauty Joni expresses through song and devotion within the stories of this book. She takes the listener to a deeper place in Christ all while living within her suffering. These songs, verses and depth of faith reveal to us all the face of Christ out hope and the reality that we can worship Christ while living with pain, disease and any other distress and suffering. This beautiful book recharged my hope and lifted me upward toward Christ who is my hope, my comfort, my strength and my song.

To everything there is a season…

This book has truly come at the right season for me. The hymns chosen - some familiar friends, others still to be wrapped in my heart - covered life’s journey. The devotional with each hymn was rich and encouraging, bringing wise instruction from the authors life and the honest experiences of others. The love, commitment and, can I add sacrifice, of Joni to read and sing each one, brought a greater depth of understanding. Written by those who knew sorrow and suffering-read by one whose daily walk is wrapped in suffering - for those of us who are learning to find the joy, the intimacy of relationship with Jesus in our suffering and seek out the blessings to pass on…well, I can only say my heart, my outlook has shifted even more. Thank You Jesus! God’s continued blessing on you and Ken, Joni. Can’t wait to meet you both.
