About this listen

To an experienced thief like Krunzle the Quick, the merchant nation of Druma is full of treasures just waiting to be liberated. Yet when the fast-talking scoundrel gets caught stealing from one of the most powerful prophets of Kalistrade, the only option is to undertake a dangerous mission to recover the merchant lord's runaway daughter - and the magical artifact she took with her. Armed with an arsenal of decidedly unhelpful magical items and chaperoned by an intelligent snake necklace happy to choke him into submission, Krunzle must venture far from the cities of the merchant utopia and into a series of adventures that will make him a rich man - or a corpse!

It's okay.

Predictable and boting at times. Other then the troll most characters are wooden and utterly forgettable. The plot is just the same. Its not all bad if your intention is to pass time. I could listen to more in the series and not be overly upset.

slow build...

This was a little bit of a struggle to begin. after a third through lots of fun characters show up. main character seemed like he could've been anyone (in a bad way).

::slight spoilers::
Loved the dwarven story, the mining town and troll and even the troll's journey.

Excellent performance; bored by the story

Jonathan Davis is one of my favorite narrators, but even his masterful performance wasn't enough to keep me interested in this novel that felt like the author "phoned in". I play Pathfinder on a regular basis and I felt as though the author was entirely unfamiliar with the setting. I was quickly bored by the story. It felt...hollow.

If you're not familiar with Pathfinder, I recommend this novel with the caveat that you not look to play based on what was written.
