About this listen

When forced to choose between safety with the dragon organization Talon and being hunted forever as an outcast, Ember Hill chose to stand with Riley and his band of rogue dragons rather than become an assassin for Talon. She's lost any contact with her twin brother, Dante, a Talon devotee, as well as Garret, the former-enemy soldier who challenged her beliefs about her human side. As Ember and Riley hide and regroup to fight another day, Garret journeys alone to the United Kingdom, birthplace of the ancient and secret Order of St. George, to spy on his former brothers and uncover deadly and shocking secrets that will shake the foundations of dragons and dragon-slayers alike, placing them all in imminent danger as Talon's new order rises.

Very engaging

It was over too soon! The chapter length is perfect for intermittent listening to & from work.

Damn this one

Okay okay, the first two had me wanting more of the story and this book just took my heart. I enjoy the slight cliffhangers she gives you that makes you want to keep reading. Characters just keep getting better and the insight into their minds is explored more.

voice actors weren't the best fit IMO

the characters are teens but the actors sound in their 40s which is a little bit off putting at times but overall I enjoyed this one more than the previous 2 books

What a book!

Loved the book! Good vs. Evil, right vs. wrong.....the story is written by who ever wins. I can't wait to see who ends up winning!

Overview

The story was good. I did enjoy it although I felt it was moving slowly and I wanted to move faster to get to the end.

I wanted a conclusion between Riley and Ember or Garret and Ember. It seems like there's still no hard conclusion. Maybe the author is good at giving cliff hangers.

I enjoyed the performances. That was the main reason for me to get these audio books. I got so used to hearing them voiced by these actors that it was hard for me to just read the book.

Overall, it's left me wanting to finish the final book.

Inner dialogue

Too many whining inner dialogues, the female narrator makes it worse, her voice makes me cringe everytime she starts reading the inner thoughts if Amber.
