About this listen

Ahoy there, maties! Join the formidable Captain Snowbeard for the holidays this year in this swashbuckling Christmas adventure!

Enlisted in Santa's mission to deliver rotten fruitcake and one pirate toy to all the children on the Naughty List, Captain Snowbeard sets sail with his eight flying sharks and most-trusted angler fish to light the way in this imaginative twist on a classic. Written with wit, humor, and lyrical mastery, the story is told by an accordion-playing, salty old sea dog named Billy Bosun and his singing pirate crew, the Dread Naughties.

What a delight!

I loved it! I usually don’t buy books this short, I am a huge fan of the narrator so went out on a limb and it turns out he wrote it as well. I can see this becoming a book we listen to around the holidays for a long time. I have already gifted a copy of the book. It was just a lot of fun with superb narration.

Really fun

What great rhyming and what a great Christmas tale! Highly recommend for a bedtime story or a classroom read-aloud for about third through fifth grades.

Great

Cute story. I love the cleverness of his brother and how he changes his outlook on life, without forcing him to majorly change.

Santa and his prodigal pirate brother

This is a delightfully written and performed Christmas tale about Santa’s little-known brother, Snowbeard. The story cleverly intertwines pirate antics with Christmas lore and will entertain both children and adults. What really makes it fun, however, is Chip’s narration- his theater experience shines throughout the story. The music accompaniment, the accordionist and the Dreadnaught singers, round out the recording and makes you feel as if you were one of the crew. You will want to listen more than once.

Fun Christmas Adventure!

I really enjoyed this short Christmas tale. The storyline was funny, the characters were well crafted, and the prose was imaginative, vividly written and perfectly whimsical. I’d recommend this story for children, families, and anyone young at heart.
