About this listen

For the past seven years, Skinwalker Hunter - Ryan Skinner, has investigated bizarre events at Skinwalker Ranch. What Bigelow and his NIDs research team encountered after 2005 has not been shared with the public, until now. This audiobook picks up with Ryan Skinner chronicling his up-to-date experiences at the Ranch as highlighted by his visual narration, alluring photos, and videos of shocking events that actually happened. On numerous occasions he was threatened by balls of light which have given chase, mysterious voices speaking in the desert air, glowing objects were seen, shadow people stalked him (and others), portals opened, alien creatures emerged, and all this in vivid detail. The audiobook culminates with Ryan meeting a shape shifting entity known as a "Skinwalker".

Path of the Skinwalker opens a gateway into the realities of an alternate universe; one which is beyond comprehension, beyond time and space, a place strictly off-limits to the public, a place known as Skinwalker Ranch.

Exciting, BUT

As far as I understand he is supposedly researching the place and events connected to it, but there is not much reseach in this book. He tells what he has experienced, and it is written as if it was fiction, with lots of descriptions of his feelings, what the environment looked like, and so on (plus lots seems to happen every time he goes looking, no "and then we sat there for two nights and got bored" descriptions here).

But if he has done any background research he doesn't talk much about it.

No where he might have found information, no whys and wheres. In the beginning, during his first encounter with strangeness he tells how he and his then fiancee saw several abandoned looking cars on some truck stop, with their doors hanging open and things inside which made the scene look as if the occupants had either been abducted or ran in fear, but it seems he never tried to check it out afterward, no look into local newspapers, or inquiries for police or sheriff departments or anything.

So, this mostly reads as fiction. "My Skinwalker Adventure" or something. Entertaining enough, but if you are looking for actual research I wouldn't recommend this.

A Good Book for Fans of Skinwalker Ranch

Ryan Skinner is definitely a skilled writer. As a fan of the show "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch," I tend to believe much of what he has written. If I had not watched the show prior to listening to this book, I probably would have taken this as a fanciful story, nothing more.

The books sort of just stops, however, leaving me quite unsatisfied with the outcome. I can't wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone, but I can suggest it to those who are already interested in the Skinwalker Ranch story.

Disrespectful to women, Native American people.

It seems that the author did not have a editor who could have guided him away from the simile and metaphoritis this book suffers from. Unfortunately the blatant mysogeny and derogatory descriptions of Native Americans is present throughout the book. Although the topic is fascinating, the book was offensive and speaks more about the authors ignorance regarding "mail-order brides" and human trafficking as well as Native American culture and sacred lands. perhaps the author has matured with time? This book speaks more about white male privilege and individual arrogance than the skinwalker phenomenon.

Not much skinwalker ranch

The author is very self-important. The book is full of descriptions of himself and how amazing he is. There is very little skinwalker ranch in this book about skinwalker ranch. It has so many forced metaphors and the writing is so pretentious. I was embarrassed listening to it.

Great book from Ryan - My Favorite of All of Them

This has some great experiences from Ryan and explains his obsession with the ranch and his theories of what is going on that area. Narration is very good. This is actually my favorite out of his books. I understand he received some criticism on this book because it had too much of his personal thoughts and feelings in it? I don't understand why that would warrant criticism - I sincerely hope he writes another book on his personal experiences just as he did with this book - anyone can read the history of the area, but Ryan is a terrific writer and there is nothing like hearing these types of personal experiences straight from the horses mouth!

Excellent writer

When I read or listen to books, occasionally I will read a sentence and be struck by its perfection. It’s descriptive nature combined with a lyrical prose makes very happy as a reader and a recreational writer.

This book is full of those sentences. Several times I would stop the book and say— that’s a good one.

The author is also a great storyteller. He kept me engaged with the story and privy to his emotions.

Regardless of how you feel about the paranormal, this is a great book.

terrible

This has to be the worst book ever written. A collection of 5 dollar words , a rambling 24 chapters with about 3 pages of content. A real disappointment.

An Introduction To Skinwalker Ranch, Researcher’s Quest With Truth Audiobook

Awesome narrator and the book that started it all. Author and world’s foremost Skinwalker Ranch researcher Ryan Skinner’s intimate personal account investigating the paranormal at Skinwalker Ranch. This is one of the most important books on the 500 acre High Strangeness and UFO hotspot of the world. Path of the Skinwalker title pays homage to the Ute Indian belief that the Ouray Mountains directly above Ranch property are in the path of the shapeshifter being known as the the Skinwalker.
Skinner concisely and eloquently shows the reader how an event he experienced in Northeast Utah (Uintah Basin) not only changed his life but was the driving force behind his pursuit of truth.
Filled with firsthand personal experiences, some terrifying some rather rather hilarious Skinner is able to give the reader an glimpse of the reality of Skinwalker Ranch. As with all of his 7 books, Path of the Skinwalker is a must read.
