About this listen

Waking up in a hospital with no recollection of the events that put her there, Bonnie O'Neal sets out to discover who wants her dead - and why. As hazy memories come back, she struggles to determine what is real and what is not. Some of the memories are not her own - but who do they belong to? Fearing that her ex-husband may be involved, Bonnie doesn't know who she can trust, while images of android engineers, wires, and a tall, mysterious building flood her mind.

But as reality and dreams merge, will Bonnie learn that her attempted murder might just be a small part of a greater conspiracy? It's not only Bonnie's life on the line, but all of mankind.

It was ok.

The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I didn't care much for this book. In fact, if it had been an ebook or paperback I probably wouldn't have even finished it. It was a slow start. There didn't seem to be much of a point to it for a long time, and then the ending was just weird. Sorry, but I don't think I'll continue this series.

Interesting twist on artificial intelligence.

STORY: The book was good, but about two-thirds of the way through it, I started wondering how he was ever going to be able to wrap this up in the time left. Unfortunately, I was left hanging, thinking “what, that’s it?” I still gave it a 4-star rating due to his writing style, and character development in this short book. I really liked the characters.

TEENS: Cannot recommend this book to teens due to the sexual content. It wasn’t over the top, but I am generally a prude when it comes to what I allow my teens to read.

VIOLENCE/LANGUAGE/SEX: No violence or language (Thank you). Sex was tasteful, however, I would have preferred to stay out of the bedroom.

50 years in the Making

Would you listen to Single Wired Female again? Why?

Yes. It was very interesting the technology that was being described. Hope we see it in my lifetime.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Trish. She had a lot to discover and digest it in a short period of time.

Which character – as performed by Andrew B. Wehrlen – was your favorite?

I liked Mary. She came on all of a sudden and was great and then disappeared just as fast.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Wonder about today.....Remember yesterday!

Loved it!

Awesome story of A.I. The author made me sympathise with the machine and see things from her point of view. Greg Dragon is an excellent author and I'd like to explore more of his books! Andrew B. Wehrlen does a wonderful job with the narration. I enjoyed every minute of this book.

Very insightful story

Definitely would recommend this book to my technology driven friends
and some others as well.
I'm not really a science fiction fan but, this caught my attention and kept me
interested from the first chapter.

Have you listened to any of Andrew B. Wehrlen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first Andrew B. Wheeler book. I am planning to read/listen to the rest of the series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and did.

Any additional comments?

Interestingly Wired

The premise and backdrop behind Single Wired Female is very interesting. An android works against a bad memory, betrayal, humans, and other androids to solve a murder and other mysteries. It has a bit of everything to make a good book. What is missing (for me) is a deeper sense of the character, that certain intangible something that gives them a "real" feel, and makes me care about them, like a more compelling backstory for example. Still, the story is interesting and worth the read.

Narrator Andrew B. Wehrlen did a great job with pacing and personification of characters, including female voices.

Single wired female

Any additional comments?

Dragon has written this second novel in the universe of Re-Wired, but it works as a stand-alone. It's impossible to miss the potential for further stories within this world of synthetic almost-humans--the 'restrained' living a life of servitude and exploitation, sexual and otherwise. The un-biased reader will consider that "synthetics are the next step in our evolution as humans

Interesting concept and story

Any additional comments?

How would you handle it if you suddenly found out you were not "human", but an android.

This was an interesting and mostly enjoyable short story. There is a lot that goes on in this story, murder, mystery, amnesia, betrayal and suspense. While it has all of these things and the story is enjoyable there were many times in the story that Bonnie/Tricia's actions just did not make sense, and then the ending was let down. It would have been even better if it had been a bit longer, there would have been a little more time to really develop the characters and story. There is a potential for many more really good stories in the Re Wired World.

Even though this is the second book in the Re Wired World it is a stand alone book. But I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had read the first book and had a better understanding of Bonnie/Tricia. Especially when she has flashbacks trying to remember her past.

This is the first time I have listened to a story narrated by Andrew B. Wehrlen and he did a good job. He has a nice deep voice that would be great for many books. I don't think he was the right narrator for this story. Not because he did a bad job but because the story is revolves around a female and her thoughts, actions etc.

This is the first Greg Dragon story I have read. He has a couple other books out that sound interesting as well.
