Acerca de esta escucha
This intimate, revealing portrait of Frank Sinatra - from the man closest to the famous singer during the last decade of his life - features never-before-seen photos and new revelations about some of the most famous people of the past 50 years, including Jackie Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Sam Giancana, Madonna, and Bono. “If you are a Frank fan, buy this book” (Jimmy Kimmel).
More than a hundred books have been written about legendary crooner and actor Frank Sinatra. Every detail of his life seems to captivate: his career, his romantic relationships, his personality, his businesses, his style. But a hard-to-pin-down quality has always clung to him - a certain elusiveness that emerges again and again in retrospective depictions. Until now.
From Sinatra’s closest confidant and an eventual member of his management team, Tony Oppedisano, comes an extraordinarily intimate look at the singing idol that offers “new information on almost every page” (The Wall Street Journal). Deep into the night, for more than two thousand nights, Frank and Tony would converse - about music, family, friends, great loves, achievements and successes, failures and disappointments, the lives they’d led, the lives they wished they’d led. In these full-disclosure conversations, Sinatra spoke of his close yet complex relationship with his father, his conflicts with record companies, his carousing in Vegas, his love affairs with some of the most beautiful women of his era, his triumphs on some of the world’s biggest stages, his complicated relationships with his talented children, and, most important, his dedication to his craft.
Toward the end, no one was closer to the singer than Oppedisano, who kept his own rooms at the Sinatra residences for many years, often brokered difficult conversations between family members, and held the superstar entertainer’s hand when he drew his last breath.
“Frank Sinatra fans, pull up a chair and let longtime confidante and road manager Tony Oppedisano regale you with tales from the entertainer’s inner circle” (Parade magazine) - Sinatra and Me pulls back the curtain on a man whom history has, in many ways, gotten wrong.

Historia
In 1986, Paul Newman and his closest friend, screenwriter Stewart Stern, began an extraordinary project. Stuart was to compile an oral history, to have Newman’s family and friends and those who worked closely with him, talk about the actor’s life. And then Newman would work with Stewart and give his side of the story. The only stipulation was that anyone who spoke on the record had to be completely honest. The result is The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man—revelatory and introspective, personal and analytical, loving and tender in places, always complex and profound.

The Merchant of Venom traces Don Rickles's career from his rise in the 1950s to a late-in-life resurgence thanks to the Toy Story franchise, his role in Martin Scorsese's Casino, and scores of TV appearances from Carson to Seth Meyers. In the intervening decades, Rickles conquered every medium he worked in, including film, television, and on stage. He was idolized by a generation of younger comedians including Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Jay Leno, and performed in the shadow of a shocking open secret: he was the nicest man in town.

In this unique homage to an American icon, journalist and award-winning author Pete Hamill evokes the essence of Sinatra - examining his art and his legend from the inside, as only a friend of many years could do. Shaped by Prohibition, the Depression, and war, Francis Albert Sinatra became the troubadour of urban loneliness. With his songs he enabled millions of others to tell their own stories, providing an entire generation with a sense of tradition and pride belonging distinctly to them.

Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

She was the last major star to come out of the old Hollywood studio system and she is a legend known for her beauty and her magnetic screen presence in a career that spanned most of the twentieth century and nearly sixty films. But her private life was even more compelling than her Oscar-winning on-screen performances. Amazing - Truly exceptional
As a huge Sinatra fan, I was really excited for this book. Having said that, I was still a little hesitant as I didn’t want to be disappointed. This book absolutely exceeded my expectations! The details and the overall story of a true legend made me feel as if I got to know a more human side of Frank Sinatra. It’s also reinforced my love for his music and elevated my opinion of this wonderful man. Thank you T for putting this wonderful work of art together and sharing your memories with the rest of the world!
Joel

There was only one Frank Sinatra!
Not the most “inside “ of books but a very positive story of a great entertainer!

Excellent in-depth biography
This book was the most detailed and accurate biography of Frank Sinatra I’ve ever read. It was written by the closest friend Frank had and had many inside stories no o e else could know. I highly recommend it

It’s the little things
It’s the little things that add up. The ones Tony O. shares in this book add a warmth to Sinatra that softens the edges that have been a common focus in other books about him. Pete Simonelli is a smooth narrator with just the right touch of emotion necessary to compliment the story. I didn’t want it to end. I wanted to hear more stories about a bygone era that was classy, fearless, fun … and had Ol Blue Eyes in it! It stirred up a nostalgia that brought tears to my eyes. In sharing his unique and personal experiences, Tony truly honored his friendship with Frank by giving the fans a refreshing, touching, and positive insight to the legend.

Stand Alone Most Sincere Sinatra Bio - From his best friend
Everyone wants to sell books. So many use shock value to drive sales. No Sinatra Books can match the integrity of Sinatra and Me.
Tony O didn’t care if it sold one copy.
Thank You Tony

Best Book
This book exceeded all my expectations in providing a fascinating account of a world artist. It's blunt and honest and doesn't hide the "improper" or the "unpopular". It provides a beautiful insight into the man we could all feel in the music.

Excellent!
The fact that this book was written by someone with first hand experiences and a special bond with “The chairman of the Board”, makes it a must read. Or listen. So detailed, loving, sad and telling. I loved every minute of it. Thank you to Tony for sharing this intimate story of a special friendship.
