The narrator is AWFUL!!!!

The story itself is pretty good. However, the narrator is the most Ausel I have ever heard!! The author of this book should be embarrassed by his performance and ask someone else to do it!

Sorry but narrator was terrible!

The book would have been much better and easier to listen to if the narrator wasn't so robot like! Why would you chose this guy to read to us! After spending money on the book you have to listen to it, it was hard to get through. Narrating should be as good as the book, this guy made the book horrible.

Domavoy Crossing Ahead!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Most definitely so. It has suspense and solid character development, along with just enough "Believe-ability" to make it an entertaining story.

What other book might you compare Silence in the House to and why?

This book was unique enough in the storyline that it's hard to compare it to an existing book.It has the classic haunted house vibe thing going on, but the Russian style story-telling keeps it refreshing. For what its worth in comparison...maybe a softened version of The Amityville Horror?

What does J.K. Carpenter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like his ability to drift from one character to another in the story, while making it flow and keeping it entertaining. His rendition of Spike was priceless for the character in the story.

If you could take any character from Silence in the House out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I think it would be Lana's friend Allison. She has that no nonsense approach towards life in general. She pulls no punches, you pretty much know where you stand with her at all times. And then there's her cynical sense of humor that really adds to the story. But best of all...she doesn't put up with any of Spike's BS.

Any additional comments?

I think listeners will really enjoy this story. If you like suspense/thrillers with a good plot and unexpected twists and turns...you've found the right audiobook.

RUN RUN RUN...

from thIS "narrator"! I've heard lots of bad recordings, narrators, etc. I have heard readings of books that sounded like they were being narrated in a bathroom. I have NEVER heard such a ridiculously, HORRIBLY BAD narrator. He sounded so hokey and juvenile. I'm not sure the story was bad so much as I know I cannot finish it because of this. He read it like a 2nd grader would read a book report...over enunciation and pronouncing the word picture as "pitcher". He would chop sentences and pause in the most annoying places. Bottom line: If you see anything read by J.K. Carpenter, PLEASE KEEP LOOKING.
