The Many Deaths of Timmy Branch (Short Story): It’s New Year’s Eve and Probationer Garda Bunny McGarry has been tasked with guarding evidence as retribution for doing his job properly. When a call is received, it’s down to Bunny to leap into (and onto) action.

Meanwhile in Dublin (Novella): Brigit is having quite the day. She’s organised to take her dad’s bride-to-be wedding dress shopping and has assembled a motley crew to join her. Paul isn’t faring much better as he agreed to play golf with Brigit’s dad and highly irritating brothers despite having never picked up a golf club in his life. When news of a strange deed reaches them, their day takes a turn from bad to worse.

A laugh a minute and great stories

I listen in the car and I can't count how many times someone caught me belly laughing at the exploits of Bunny, Deckie or some other character. Although it's a grouping of shorts, this well may be the most entertaining of Caimh's books to date. Bunny McGarry is perhaps the character I'd most like to sit next to in an NYC bar and spend an evening with. Bravo, Caimh!

Bunny is awesome

Loved all the characters, especially Bunny. The narrator nailed every character. LOVED him. Such a funny book

Bunny and his crew return to give us all a chuckle.

Bunny McGarry and his associates provided much needed laughs. Couple that with the tender disposition of the character’s juxtaposed against occasional bursts of violence made for a fun listen. As always the narrator’s voices were imaginative and spot on. Loved every moment. The opportunity to revisit some of Bunny’s adventures was a treat.

I can’t think of a clever Bunny pun

Caimh McDonnell is a national treasure - for any country. His books are a damned delight and I’m willing to fight anyone who argues the point. I first discovered him thanks to an Audible, “if you like Douglas Adams, you’ll dig this” recommend and while most of those recs are garbage, they were 100% with McDonnell’s novels. He’s Irish Adams, despite currently living in London (allegedly).

Anyhoooo, this is a fantastic cluster of short stories in the Bunniverse that I, sadly, listened to in one day (I had a lot of cleaning to do). I loved them all. Morgan Jones is perfection (although I have some notes on some of the New York accents, but since I can’t do any accents, I’ll keep them to myself)!

My only notes are about American terminology… but they are persnickety AF. Nobody -and I can’t emphasize the word, “nobody” enough - uses the terms “Father Christmas” or “Happy Christmas” in the US. Nobody. There were a few other language slips, but who the eff cares (pedantic, party of a very lonely one)? If you love Bunny (and you should), download this stat!

Love this series

The stories and narrator are the best. I love every single one of these stories. The writer has the best imagination and clearly knows how to make the dialogue sound real. The narrator uses the perfect accent for each character. I’m looking forward to more amazing books.
