Shiva, ‘the destroyer’ among the Hindu trinity (of gods), is depicted in many contradictory manners. He is an ascetic who wears animal skin, his body smeared with ashes. Contradictory to his wild nature, he is also depicted as having a family, with a beautiful wife and two children. There are many more such varied representations of Shiva, the most prominent of these being the Linga and the Nataraja. The author, Devdutt Pattanaik, introduces listeners to these varied aspects and representations and then sets about interpreting them. He explains the different anomalies and conflicts in beliefs as well as the symbolism, rituals and reasons behind Hindu worship.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Overall some very good explanations for old mythology stories we heard and relevanve of that. How all that is linked to science and still useful or make sense in current world.

Interesting book
I have seen Devlok in Netflix and was impressed by Devdutt Ji.
So much to learn. The best part about authors approach is that this does not feel like any propaganda of religion. It explains things in a very profound way.
