About this listen

After a decade of hard work and dedication, Jayme Caldwell’s dreams of a Seattle bakery are whisked out from under her. She’s licking her wounds in Killeen, Texas, living with her memaw, Winnie, while contemplating her future. Of course, Memaw knows exactly the kind of future her granddaughter needs…and it starts with a handsome young man she tricks into having dinner with Jayme. She’d be upset…if the man wasn’t something straight out of any red-blooded woman’s fantasies.

Rocket Long never suspected the sweet little old lady he’d befriended at the grocery store would turn out to be a conniving matchmaker, cleverly setting him up with her beloved granddaughter. But once he lays eyes on Jayme, Rocket can’t be too upset. Especially when, at 40, he’d already given up on finding “the one.” Suddenly, the love and family he’d all but given up on could be his for the taking.

But life is precious. And short. And happiness can be snatched away in the space of a breath. All things Rocket may discover the hard way…before he even gets his ring on Jayme’s finger.

Perfect novella

Rocket and Jayme are perfect for each other, an older mature couple in their thirties, and forties. a sweet extra treat for the delta force team 2 series.

🔹SOUL FOOD!

🔹I REALLY LOVED THIS "FEEL GOOD" BOOK!!! Its about INTENSE ROMANCE (not just sex) but intense love making!

🔹If you’re searching for a heartwarming story about two soulmates (without action/adventure)...this is the book for you.

🔹The main character and lead male Rocket is not part of the Delta force, which kind of threw me off at first, but once I got into the book I was very drawn by their story.

🔹Lead female, Jayme is a talented baker in search of love and purpose. Lead male, rocket and no, that’s not his nickname that’s his actual name lol... is also a hopeless romantic and in search of love. When their story collides, it is nothing short of SCORCHING PASSION!

🔹Out of all of Susan's military books I have listened to - this one is literally the MOST passionate! WOW!

🔹This particular book does not have high octane action.
It does soothe the soul and feed emotions with their HIGHLY EMOTIONAL romance. IT REALLY DREW ME IN!

🔹I was rooting for both characters and couldn’t wait for them to get married and start a family.
These are the kind of people that should be having kids. (YESS!) They are connected to each other, well grounded, great values, and overall make FABULOUS parents! I was thrilled they found each other!

🔹It’s an uplifting, happy story just in case you’re having a bad day and are looking for something in the "feel good" zone. I really loved every moment of their poetic universe!!♥️

🔹Great job narrating Virginia and phenomenal job Susan on this over the top romance!

♥️Rocket is the kind of guy every woman would want. He is a great listener, thoughtful, and out of the box with little things, deeply caring, highly romantic. Not to mention great looking at a phenomenal lover.

🔹Namaste stocker fans!

This was a cute short

Jayme and Rocket’s story was a cute one. It was quick and short. While I was hoping that Winnie’s granddaughter would be for one of the Deltas, she still made a great connection for the helicopter mechanic.

We got to see the Deltas and felt the connection between everyone.

Wasted Credit

Full disclosure, I have written no novels-no novesl at all. However, I have purchased all of Stoker's work on Audibel and don't know what she was thinking with this short piece of utter glurge. Insta-lust, Insta-love, Insta-sex, Insta-friendship with the women. Missing was the Delta men. They are the reason I buy the books. I'm glad it was a short novella because there was no story. The narrator was excellent as always, but the story was so tedious that I had time to focus on the irritating way she pronounces eeemediately. Save your credit.

Laid back

I enjoyed this short book. No it didn’t have much in common with the rest of the series and the characters from this series made a brief appearance but it was nice to just read a good love story without all the angst and drama that I also love .Now onto Shielding Riley.

Cute story but....?

This was a very sweet story. However, it was confusing. By that I mean, it makes no sense that it was in the Delta Force 2 series. Yes Rocket was at one point in the military and currently worked on the helicopters at the Ft. Hood base, but he was NOT a member of the Delta Force 2 team. Seems as if it should have been in a different series. Maybe a whole new series of accompanying characters that support the two Delta teams? It was just odd, in my humble opinion. Aside from that a very nice story.
