In Shepherds for Sale, Megan Basham of the Daily Wire documents how progressive powerbrokers—from George Soros, to the founder of eBay, to former members of the Obama administration—set out to change the American church. Their goal: to co-opt evangelicals for political purposes. She exposes:

Mostly a hit, with the exception of not being Baptist.

I appreciate Megan Basham's work and investigation into the corruption of America and especially in the Evangelical segments of America. I'm not a Baptist so there's a great deal of the book which is plausible but I have no depth of knowledge in that denomination nor it's leadership and the issues as of late. I appreciate her nuance for Tim Keller and his imperfections as well as the praise she has for his best work. Having been in a fair number of non-denominational churches and seeing the same compromises of the Gospel, especially in calling all sinners to repent and sin no more, I am very glad to hear her book and know that I'm not the only Christian who sees those problems. Great job and a great audio book.

Summary of what normal “people in the pews” have observed the past several years in the evangelical church

If you have a biblical worldview and have wondered “what in the world is going on?” in regards to the evangelical church over the last 5-10 years (or more), this book provides helpful highlights of the influences pushed into seminaries and “Big Eva”, that trickles down into pulpits.

Biblical, Helpful, and Informative

Well written and informative, Megan Basham does a great job connecting many of the dots regarding the Marxist ideology that has infected Christian churches in recent times. There is a movement of man-centered people who claim Christianity and seem to have more concern for accommodating the culture than honoring the truth of God contained in Scripture. Public leaders of this movement are identified with evidence provided.

Basham narrates herself and does an excellent job.
The book’s conclusion is extremely well done and moving, tying in her own conversion to Christianity with the overall theme of the book and the need for faithful Christian leaders who are not swayed by a hostile world.

If you hear this book criticized as dishonest or slanderous, ask yourself: where are the defamation lawsuits if she is indeed wrong? Like John Calvin said, ambiguity is indeed the fortress of heretics.

A Warning Worth the Read

There are contentions online that some of her criticisms are unfair. I would look into any criticisms and read the responses of certain pastors to evaluate is her criticism of them was fair. However I think the book as a whole and the warning within is well worth the read, and I appreciate her boldness and willingness to call out influential pastors and organizations with their seeming or blatant compromise. Our current culture relies on peer pressure and fear to silence historic Christianity, we need more bold unashamed believers willing to take the hits she has taken for this book.

Unvarnished truth

This amazing book increased my perspective on the Christian church, today.
I’ve been feeling that there is something very wrong with Christianity, as it is being preached from the pulpit.
The prosperity gospel, the concert type aspect of divine worship and the sexual revolution taking place in God’s holy kingdom, is disconcerting.
I praise God for this book and the author’s courage in speaking out against the subtle evils confronting the Christian church.

Everyone should read this

Amazing what she uncovers
She ends with a call of love to the downtrodden and outcast
Do not judge until you have finished the book
Hopefully it’s a wake up call to the American church

Speaking Boldly

Mrs Basham reveals the influence of the sins of the earthly world on the saints of the church. We are wise to be aware but have comfort that God uses all for the good of his church. Thank you for your courage and boldness Mrs Basham!

A researched expose

I did not think I would live to see this type of truth telling.
Growing up in the 70s and 80s, I watched the damage done to evangelical America by Jim and Tammy and other sell outs. It hasn’t stopped and I’ve been devastated to see marxists and socialists have so much sway over church leaders.

I hope this is the beginning of something powerful.

Power of Pragmatism

It is no wonder that only half of all Christians are even registered to vote; and only half of the other half actually get off their blessed ass-
urance and actually vote.
It cannot be happenstance that 75% of Christians do not participate in governance. They have been led astray by crafty 'bought and paid for' shepherds who hold them captive within the four walls of the church, rather than salt and light to the world. As James 3:1 tells us
"My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment."
I pray they read Megan's book, cease being a vessel of Satan, and spend their days on earth proclaiming the Truth from God's Word.
