Editorial reviews

This iMinds case study not only examines Sharia law as a system of jurisprudence, but also, by extension, its place in Islamic daily life - its role in regulating Muslims relationships with both one another and Allah. Listeners will understand Sharia's core tenets - including its categories of human behavior and the Five Pillars of Islam - and how they impact contemporary Muslims' daily life. BBC documentarian David Whiteley traces Sharia's bases to the Quran and the teachings of Muhammad. Continuing through history, Whiteley examines the forms of leadership recognized by Sunnis and Shiites, and the eventual establishment of different schools of jurisprudence within Sharia law. In his soft-spoken baritone, Whitely strikes a leisurely pace, while nevertheless wasting no words as he imparts a wealth of information.

Critic reviews

"I'm learning all sorts of stuff about stuff I didn't even know I didn't know. And it sticks. In a nutshell: wonderful." (Jonathon Margolis, Financial Times)

A lot of information in a few minutes.

Surprisingly informative for what is essentially an article. Also explained some things well I was unaware of.

Not as expected, Just a brief overview of Sharia

I expected this book to be an in depth look at Sharia Law when in fact it is just a brief overview that could likely be found in more detail for free on the web. That being said it is well written and the narrator does a good job, It even has sound effects to create the vibe.

pronunciations are horrible and completely incorrect this is a terrible source of information for this subject

I have been a student and teacher of Islamic studies for nearly a decade and thought I would listen to this Out of curiosity

Astagfiruallah! Do not waste time. This is inaccurate and dumb

This sounds like a group project from primary school. In which, a group of students have to present. So they just haphazardly put some information together after doing lazy research to finish the slides. And they Don’t fact check as long as it sounds like it fits lol so embarrassing for iMind.

This is merely a quote not a book.

I was expecting a book with chapters of information. Not something i can google in less than 5 minutes.
