About this listen

Even for a techno-shaman, a kachina in the bedroom isn't exactly part of the drill. When Olivia Lawson wakes to find one towering over her, she panics. A Hopi god visiting the real world isn't just wrong - it's impossible.

Or is it?

Soon Olivia learns that the kachina is the least of her worries. As she struggles to save her clients, clashes with other shamans, and fends off the attacks of real-world vigilantes, Olivia finds herself in the destructive path of a malevolent ancient force intent on leaving the spiritual realm to conquer this one.

Left with few options, Olivia is forced to defy centuries of shaman prohibitions. As she and her allies risk everything in their bid for survival, Olivia ultimately learns that the rules are there for a reason and that breaking them has a terrible cost.

Very original and captivating story

I really enjoyed this book. The story was interesting and captivating. I love this genre of story with supernatural elements woven into normal life and I am interested to see what happens next in Livvy's adventure. I did find the audiobook version took a little time to get into. The performer's cadence was slow and careful and made it a little harder to pay attention. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this one did take the longest I get into. Once I got used to her reading style it was fine and I was able to lose myself in the story. It helped when there were more characters and she did the voice and spoke more normally. I think this is more of a personal preference than anything else. I will still listen to the next volumes in the story. Overall a very enjoyable story.

Techno-Shamans!

Author M. Terri Green has written a great story that engages you from start to finish. The story is fun, unique, magic, and religion. I think the author did quite alot of research when deciding to write this story and the details are vivid.
I really liked Livvy and the shaman just can't seem to catch a break. This is a really good story and one that you must get for yourself.

Narrator Celia Aurora de Blas does a fantastic job. I haven't heard any of this narrator's work before but I'll definitely be looking for more stories she's narrated. Her voice and accents are superb. The author picked the perfect narrator for this story. Celia brought this story to life as if I thought I was there at times. Overall, a 5 🌟 rating.

I received this audio at no charge from the author/narrator in exchange for an honest and unbiased review through Audiobook Blast.

Techno Shaman - a New World for Me to Explore

What did you love best about Shaman, Healer, Heretic?

After listening to book 1, I got the 1-3 bundle. That's how much I enjoyed book 1!

I enjoyed watching this world unfold and it's interesting and varied characters come to life. I also enjoyed finding plot twists that I didn't see coming.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shaman, Healer, Heretic?

I enjoyed the full journey of learning about Olivia and her friends, rather than one specific moment or two.

What about Celia Aurora de Blas’s performance did you like?

Celia Aurora de Blas is a talented narrator I am happy to now know about. She has a pleasant, straightforward narration style with well-differentiated character voices.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I believe it would make an excellent TV series, rather than a movie. The tag line would either be "Techno Shaman Olivia Lawson: Setting the World Right" or "Olivia Lawson: Techno Shaman, Healer, Heroine."

Don't bother

I got this book for $1.99 after getting the Kindle version for free. I wish I didn't pay that much. I couldn't get into the book. I never got the concept of a "Techno Shaman". It just wasn't for me.
