About this listen

The epic conclusion to USA Today best seller David Dalglish's Seraphim series.

What started as a small rebellion has grown to all-out war, with the four minor islands uniting under the call for independence. But Kael Skyborn no longer trusts the mysterious leader of their rebellion nor his disciples. Neither side seems willing to reveal the truth of the elemental prisms the Seraphim wield in battle or the blood that keeps the islands from crashing down to the ocean below.

Bree Skyborn is the Phoenix of Weshern and the face of the rebellion. But when Kael is captured and brought to Center for execution, Bree no longer cares about the war or the call for independence. All that matters is rescuing her brother and putting a stop to the violence for once and for all.

Both sides hold secrets that could be their undoing.

Dissapointed

Spoiler alert: In this story i thought the death of the main hero was completely unnecessary. My main point of contention is that,Bree should have lived. Her and her brother should have found a way to defeat the shadow together. It was just to sad, after all she had already sacrificed, she especially should have lived. The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 out of 5.

Nice ending to the series

I enjoyed the ending although I felt there could have been more. Some characters were not mentioned in the epilogue so you don't know if they lived or died.

Great book

Great book, felt a little rushed towards the end but ended very well. Wished the epilogue was further out in the future to see if mankind was able to get past there differences

Very well written

Not sure if this is the last in the series but I was captivated since the first book. Although parts were predictable, the back story and character development came full circle with this last installment. Highly recommend the story and the performer is outstanding.

not everyone gets a happy ending

What made the experience of listening to Shadowborn the most enjoyable?

The fact that the author brought about a more realistic ending than many young adult books do. The hero doesn't always get a happily ever after. In war people die, even the strongest fall to an enemy sometimes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The ending made me cry sad and happy tears all at the same time

Fantastic

Flawless conclusion to an incredible story. this is why David dalglish is one of my very favorite authors. this is the final book of the series so if you haven't read the first two start with them. If you have expect more of the same awesome story.

I hope that devilish will do what he's done in his other world that he created, and now work backwards writing the history and mythology of the world

All the world’s a stage and...

Everyone in it are but, the puppets on strings. Amidst the fires of war and confusion, the true identity of the puppet master is revealed far too late. Can humanity come together to survive or will it all come to a bitter sweet end?

Loved it

Great conclusion to a great little series. great independent story line, but couldn't help mixing it in with the other series he has written. Ascension and Angel's? Mixes well with the end of the Orcs series. Love all of dalglishe's books and this just adds to the list.

Disappointed

Love this author but just too many mistakes, illogical moves, etc. and why didn’t the ferrymen, with their light affinity, join the fight?
