Listened to The Portal Wars almost 2 years ago. I was excited to see that there was another book to this series but I personally felt like this particular story was already completed. This book adds to the world and ties up number of questions a reader would have after book 7.
This book is a fine addition but didn't completely answer some of the questions I wanted a definitive answer to.

I love this series and Otto remains my favorite MC of all.
I love just how excellently written out and fleshed each character is. We know their day to day, we've grown with them and seen it all. Otto has grown to be an excellent mage and a phenomenal leader when he needs to be. Personally as someone whi dislikes romance it's a breath of fresh air to have a main character not overly obsessed with someone and more goal oriented. Alot of times fantasy books diverge and end up with romance as a massive subplot but this remains on its Ps and Qs and I love it! I need more of Otto and his journey but I'm more than satisfied with this story.

Great story to Otto’s world
I’m not sure what to say other than I really enjoyed the portal wars and didn’t expect an 8th book. Seeing how the characters have changed after 10 years was fun and I hope to see a 9th one come in eventuallyz
