It’s ends in a cliff hanger….. I’ve already have a book hangover from the rose series and now Carly ends like this?!?!?!?

I’m shook.. 😳

Talk about a suspenseful book! This was by far the best Carly Moore book to date. The twists and turns had me focused in the whole time. And the ending - man, the ending - absolutely crazy. I will literally be pacing until the next book comes out, I can’t wait. Hats off to Denise for another amazing novel 🤩

OH WOW!

The twists and turns in this book are amazing! I can't wait for the next book to see how the series ends since this is supposed to be the second to the last book for Carly. I hope it's not too long of a wait even though it'll be the end of the series.

Wowzers! I’m constantly wowed with each book in this series. Just when you think it can’t get better, crazier, or more dangerous it does! Narrated perfectly! Can’t wait for the next book.

And the plot thickens!

As the story was coming to an end I was afraid we would be left hanging and waiting for the next book! What a ride to the end! The back stories of each character were totally unexpected. Hurry and finish the next one Denise!

Shady, Shady, Shady!

Just when you’ve developed a sense of understanding for all the characters….bam! You’re wrong! In true DGS fashion, she kills it! This one is jaw dropping. Can’t put it down. Must read!

Hard to Put Down

Once again this portion of Carly Moore waitress/part time detective’s complicated messy life was another plot twisting could not put it down story. The book picks up following the end of the last book with Carly still healing from her injuries received in the car crash. She is still hiding from her dangerous and powerful father and living in Drum, a small town disconnected from the rest of the world. She is working as a waitress in the local bar, healing from her painful past, and get comfortable in her relationship with Marco, a deputy sheriff. She still wants to bring down first Bart Drummond and then her father. As a result, she is trying to find possible crimes in the past that link to Drummond while simultaneously trying to figure out the maybe nefarious motives of the various secondary characters. Drum is a hot bed of gossip, lies, dirty deals, deception, and powerful men but this book takes it to a whole new level. And honest and kind people like Carly are frequently in the cross hairs. Familiar characters are part of the story while Carly does her usual sleuthing and things get messy, complicated, and dangerous quickly. The book was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. With that cliffhanger ending, I cannot wait to read the final book in this series.

Shannon McManus did a great job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.
