About this listen

Sex and Cupcakes is a collection of essays from writer Rachel Kramer Bussel reflecting on her years as a sex columnist and cupcake blogger, detailing her dirty and sweet sides as well as sexual adventures, politics, heartbreak, tattoos, and more. Sex and Cupcakes reveals the woman behind the stereotype, one far more complex than Carrie Bradshaw and her Manolos, a woman willing to expose herself, on paper and in the flesh, who takes risks and gets hurt and keeps on searching for love, sex, passion, and happiness.

Includes essays such as "I'm Pro-Choice and I F***", "Wearing My Tattooed Heart on My Sleeve", "My Boyfriend's Fat", "Champagne Sex", and "Monogamishmash".

Cupcakes and sex...such fun to enjoy

I've read many of RKB's books. I love them all. This was also great because these essays gave an insight into who RKB is. So much was included that she gave me some ideas about my own writing as well as knowing I'm just fine being who I am as I am.

The reader was awesome

A story of an editor/author of erotic anthologies

Rachel is a notable editor of, and contributor to, erotic anthologies. This books tells us a bit of her own story. It was a fun listen.

Top writer/editor tells it in her words

What did you love best about Sex & Cupcakes?

RKB is a fantastic writer and editor of Erotica. Knowing more about her in her own words has really opened my eyes to the person behind the words. Intelligent and Insightful. If you are a fan it's a must have

Which character – as performed by Rose Caraway – was your favorite?

Rose Caraway is a wonderful narrator, and can read the phone book and make it sensual,

Any additional comments?

Anything written by or edited by RKB is usually a must for me to read. If Erotica is a genre that you enjoy, this is the story behind the woman who makes it happen.

disappointing

Could have done without the Lena Dunhamesque political diatribe as an opening salvo. Overall a snore.
