About this listen

If you discovered something about yourself that was less than pleasant, would you search for the answers or would you be too afraid of what you might find?

Like most teenagers, Rouge is trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to be. With little knowledge about her past, she has questions but has never tried to find the answers. Everything changes when she befriends a strangely intoxicating family. Siblings Grace and Michael, appear to have secrets which seem connected to Rouge. Her hunch is confirmed when a horrible incident occurs at an outdoor party. Rouge may be the only one who can find the answer.

An ancient journal, a Siorghra necklace and a special mark force life-altering decisions for a girl who grew up unprepared to fight for her life or others.

All secrets have a cost and Rouge's determination to find the truth can only lead to trouble.... or something even more sinister.

What other book might you compare Seventh Mark to and why?

Nice Surprise!

If you could sum up Seventh Mark: The Hidden Secrets Saga, Book 2 in three words, what would they be?

Nice YA Surprise.

What did you like best about this story?

I am usually not a fan of YA tales, and by "not a fan" I mean, not at all. However there are the rare exceptions, and this is absolutely one of them.

What does Chloe Golden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Chloe just sounded... "right" if that makes sense. I laughed, and she seemed to have the perfect YA inflection. She even sounded flippant at times, which was awesome as it really added to the experience.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and I did.

Any additional comments?

STORY REVIEW......

The story is good. I liked the characters. The story was very interesting. I just wished the book was not split into 2 parts. It's very confusing as to what is considered the second book. I'm not sure if I will continue with the series. I'm interested in the out come but not sure what book I should be looking for.

AUDIO REVIEW......

I found the narrator to be very very annoying sounding. She is able to do different voices but listening to some of them is a bad as finger nails on a chalkboard. God awful.

Loved It!

I started reading this series on the heels of another series written by WJ May and can honestly say I don't know wich one I enjoyed more! This book has awesome characters and a unique storyline. Rogue sets out to live with a foster family, and quickly learns they are not who she thinks they are when she gets booted out of the house. Rogue finds a place to call home with a coven of the fallen. A love story quickly evolved when she and Michael learn they have deep feelings for one another. Then the story really takes us on an adventure with creatures called Grolics, who change from human to beast in a flash, and Rogue seems to have their full attention, but the question is why? Well you will have to pick up this audio to find out! The narrator really does a great job adding the right emphasis on emotions during the dialogue. Great job by both author and narrator 5 stars all the way!

Great Book....but

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review.
First off I did love this book. The story is great. It is different than the stories I am used to. I was surprised this what the supernatural creatures are. Never heard of them being used this way before. The story keeps moving and doesn't bore you.
The narrator, Chloe Golden, is great. She really has emotion where it needs to be. Doesn't just read like a robot like some narrators I have heard. That can really kill a good book for me.
The only complaint I would have is if parts 1 and 2 are separate "books" and if they need to be purchased separately. Because in my opinion they are one book together. They are not separate books. Then it would not be worth the money. If they are not combined then each one is only a short story. Combined they make a great book.

Performance let down

I love W.J. May's stories having read several of her works, but I must say that the actual delivery in this audiobook was quite unfortunate. The reader was not very good at men's voices and she made Michael sound like a tool at best. Seth, Caleb, and even Damon's voices were alright but the way she portrayed Michael was so bad it ruined it for me. Seemed like she was trying to hard.

Not too sure about the narrator. The characters all sounded the same. Good story.
