About this listen

New Saucerian Press is proud to present Serpents of Fire: German Secret Weapons, UFOs, and the Hitler/Hollow Earth Connection - one of the last books ever written by legendary ufologist and writer Gray Barker. Due to the subject matter, very few copies were printed. The book became impossible to find and fetched astronomical prices - until now.

Operating out of a secluded office deep in the hills of his home state of West Virginia, the prolific Barker single-handedly kept public interest focused on UFOs during it leanest years, and introduced many themes still discussed and investigated by today’s paranormal and conspiracy researchers: the “interdimensional” theory of UFOs; the shapeshifting nature of creature entities such as Mothman, the Flatwoods Monster, and Bigfoot; the cryptic terror of the Men in Black; the mystery of the Philadelphia Experiment; and the possible role of "ancient aliens" in our collective history.

In Serpents of Fire, Barker and his co-author, the pioneering Hollow Earth researcher, Ruth Anne Leedy, take on another classic theme: Nazi UFOs. In these pages, Barker and Leedy reveal the Nazis’ secret belief in the Hollow Earth, and their interest in - and possible collusion with - the pilots and occupants of flying saucers. As the tale unfolds, a most disturbing scenario is unearthed. Do a significant number of Europeans really believe Hitler escaped in a UFO, and that the Fourth Reich will one day return - in the midst of a catastrophic Earth-axis shift - to control the world from flying saucers? The answer may shake you.

Very intriguing yet informative. I loved how additional information about history's take on these subjects was brought about by the author. Hitler and ufos interwoven together . I had to listen and finish it.. Superb narration. Kept me hooked till the last chapter. A great addition to your audio library.

An interesting read!

Wow, just wow... There is s much food for thought here. So many things I never even gave a thought to until now. After reading this book, I feel more like what if this is all true or even just some of it?

This book is about history, UFOs, secret weapons, paranormal happenings and even Hitler is in it. We travel thru history as we visit so many past happenings and hear other views as to what happened and other reasoning as to the whys and what ifs. What if things in the past really happened for other reasons such as UFOs? What if some of our past catastrophes really were caused by something or someone else? The biggest question I thought of is What if history repeated itself? Would we be ready? I thought about this and really couldn't answer it.

When things happen in life, there is an investigation and a ruling as to what happened and why. We readily accept what we are told too. Never have I even doubted the answers, but what if something else is behind our disasters? These authors have really done their homework and research! This book, while not my typical type of read, sparked my interest when I saw paranormal in it. This story is so well written I found my self sitting here listening to it word for word. The narrator, Michael Hacker spoke clearly and just the right speed for me to absorb what he was reading. At some point I think I will re-read this again as I do many books as I always find I missed a few things. It's funny, I never saw myself reading this type of book, but I really enjoyed it! I listened to this book in one sitting. I found this book to be strange and somewhat spooky and I liked it! Kudos to all of you.

Wicked conspiracies!

If you could sum up Serpents of Fire in three words, what would they be?

Hitler, Nostradamus, UFOs

What other book might you compare Serpents of Fire to and why?

There is no comparable book in MY library, though I am sure some exist. My brain attaches the significance of these authors findings to books like the DaVinci Code. There are so many vast-reaching conspiracies! Just...wow.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked the part in which they compared the Aurora Borealis to the prophecied second coming of Christ, based on some biblical translations. I also liked the very beginning of the book where they discussed Nikkola Tesla's Death Ray and tied it to Nazi Germany.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were several moments that caused me to want to put my iPod down, and forget I'd ever heard any of these theories! This is conspiracy theory at its finest! This is not your mothers drugstore tabloid... This is a concise, cohesive delving into supernatural/conspiratory theories, that will blow your mind!

Any additional comments?

The narration was phenomenal, and made the book seem much more believable. Michael Hacker has the voice of a Historian, recounting each wonderful tidbit in a way that makes it seem totally believable! Outstanding! I would love to see this made into a documentary with this same narrator.

UFOs, aliens and Hitler?

Would you listen to Serpents of Fire again? Why?

No. I found much of the material to be way out there. If you are interested in UFOs and aliens then this would likely be the book for you.

Would you be willing to try another book from the authors? Why or why not?

Again, I would have to say no. I went into this book with as an open mind as possible but at times found it to be out of my element.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The main reaction I had to this book was the sense of 'out thereness'. By that I mean that I'm not that knowledgeable about WWII history so I wasn't sure what was fact and what was fiction in regards to Hitler. Add in the aliens and UFO theories and I was lost at times.

Any additional comments?

Serpents of Fire is an unusual book to say the least. Start off with Hitler and then add in UFOs and aliens and you are off on a history lesson that I've never heard before. I did listen to the entire book and I saw where the authors were trying to tie all of the theories together at the end.

Mr. Hacker is a fine narrator and he is what kept me listening to the book. I would like to listen to some fiction read by Mr. Hacker.

I would recommend this book to my friends who are interested in UFOs and conspiracy theories.

Minus 10 stars

What would have made Serpents of Fire better?

NOTHING !!!

This book is an extraordinary example of what can happened to humane mind and how we can twist facts to fit the most idiotic theories. To the author of this masterpiece - next please "Hitler and Jesus meets Yeti"

Mad Ravings...

Any additional comments?

Book moves from one thing to another and makes references to things that are not explained. Parts of it sound like the ravings of a mad man.
I still need search the internet for what a Mothman is. Some times it is mentioned, the context sounds like a code-name for a source, and other times the context seems to be some alien or some other creature...

Look Elsewhere!

Shame on you Audible for marketing such a horrible book, narration and audio quality. Isn't there any quality control systems set up?
