Delightful story

Excellent narrator whose use of accents enhanced the listening. Story was simple but intriguing. I enjoyed it very much.

Very Good

This book was well written and also well read, I enjoyed the fact that the personalities were life like in their struggles and conflicts and yet they find a way to work through them in God's way.

Love Grows

Another fabulous Cathy Marie Hake book (I have read all but one). I am never able to set Cathy's books down, whether reading or listening to them, I hold on to ever word. I saw that some had complained of the reads performance, especially in the voices, but I do not share that compliment, I think she did quite well. My one complaint is that the read was not familiar with the characters of Gooding, Texas (from previous books) and thus did not do their characters justice in depicting their voices. I speak specifically of Sydney, who is a well-bred English woman, but the reader depicts her (in voice) as a backwoods hillbilly.
This being said all in all it was a truly lovely story and I didn't want it to end.

Christian Historical Romance

This is probably the most unusual story I've read and at the same time the most common!
unusual characters, unique personality, yet common faith and common love! Perfect! and the narration couldn't have been any better!

Great narrator, long book

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This is a typical Hake novel--pushing the limits of my patience in its length, but a good story if I keep with it

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It is predictable.

What about Laurie Birmingham’s performance did you like?

Her use of accents brings the character to life.

Enjoyable

What made the experience of listening to Serendipity the most enjoyable?

I love the way it briought me back to the day in time where things weren't so easy.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Maggpie, she was so full of grace. Her attitude in the way she handled all of her challeges was inspiring.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I did not like that the narrarator made Maggpie sound like she was an old woman. I had no idea she was just 20 yrs old until they said it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no
