Misaligned

This series by Kate Moses is enchanting. I was so drawn in to the tarot. I can not wait to see how this comes together in the next book!

Just as exciting as the first

Before purchasing this book I did note that this audiobook appeared to be less well regarded per its reviews. I did enjoy Mosse's first book of the trilogy 'Labyrinth' enough to continue on, although I found the ending of that book disappointing -- but decided to give Mosse the benefit of the doubt as to the less than stellar reviews. The reviewers in this sense were correct. I found this story to be just average, with sections that were nearly unbearable. And again, the narrator Peters completely is wrong for this story - her range covering the characters just feel well short of the mark. The main characters are in their teens/twenties, and Peters sounds almost grandmotherly - not awful, just not right for the parts. A long audiobook which I slogged through. Not sure I plan to follow through to the final book of the trilogy, Citadel. I plan to see what others have written and do note that a different narrator performs this.

What did you love best about Sepulchre?

Interesting setting.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The story was predictable, and perhaps if reading and not listening I could have followed the liberal sprinkling of French throughout. After awhile it became distracting and I found myself, thinking, was that important or just the author showing off?

Any additional comments?

What was the music about? It seemed far out of place.

Yet another great entertaining Novel by Kate Mosse. now familiar with the story lines of her work, I do still enjoy the mixture history and modern time, fiction and reality.

Another great novel by Kate Mosse

This book was less entertaining than the Labyrinth, but still somewhat fun to read in the beginning. My biggest complaint is all the build up to a mystery ending that never happens - there are not any twists. Also the sex scene is so clumsily written that I wished I could have skipped through it. Don't waste your time.

predictable

So many different subplots - I don't think I quite figured it all out. The audiobook format probably contributed to that - you can't exactly reference back to previous pages. I also felt that for a 28-year old American main character, the narrator wasn't the best choice.

Too many subplots
