A practical guide to Self-Compassion

This book is filled with practical guidance and examples of how to be more self-compassionate to ourselves. Some times we don't even realize that we need to show ourselves more self-love. Ms. Brim points out the need for us to forgive ourselve and also forgive others to help us grow. She emphasizes learning to nurture and accept ourselves so that we can be more loving to others as well. If our families are not accepting of us, we can build intentional relationships with friends who we can rely upon.

The importance of embracing a growth mindset where we learn from challenges, learning to be assertive, and using the practice of mindfulness are all ways to help us grow in self-love. A great book to keep for reference.

Boundaries, self love and ways to make it possible to promote balance through any type of situation.

I absolutely loved this audio/book! I was so incredible grateful for the examples of boundaries and permission of self love that some of us, especially older adults never learned well growing up. But this audio can absolutely serve ALL ages! Giving ways to communicate boundaries while still trying to hold to those boundaries is crucial and can be very hard to do at times. Through this process of tools she gives in this audio/book you feel it is possible to be able to validate your self worth and that you can have the confidence and ability to do it. Being able to still maintain respect in a relationship, work situation or with anyone you feel you need to assert those boundaries or communication is absolutely priceless! It was just the book/audio I needed!! Thank you!!

didn't realize how badly I needed this!

I have to admit I was rolling my eyes a little bit when I first saw this. I feel kind of silly picking up this kind of title. But wow - was I ever blown away. I didn't realize how badly I needed this! I have always struggled with self-worth and insecurity. I love how this book discusses negative self-talk and how to rid yourself of it. I have started incorporating positive self-talk in my daily routine and I can't believe what a difference it makes. The book encourages you to talk to yourself the way you would a close friend. I appreciate the focus on routines and daily self-love meditations. Self-care is easy to push to the side when you're busy, so including it in part of your daily routine just makes sense. I also appreciated the section on vulnerability, as I really hadn't thought of that perspective in self-love. I highly recommend this book!!

To love ourselves is the most difficult

I enjoyed listening to this book about self-love and self -compassion. This area truly requires mindful exercises as described in this book. Negative self-talk is usually just on a loop through your mind and it requires effort to prioritize self-care. This book discusses how to discover self-love in many ways. Some are daily practices that can become good habits, some are mindfulness exercises that need to resurface every time loneliness, isolation and self-doubt take over. Sometimes we just need to unpack the myth that perfection exists and learn how to accept ourselves wherever we are. The exercises in this book can help us to be vulnerable and resilient and heal long-term emotional wounds. We all have them. We all need this book!

Learning to love myself

I have always been so hard on myself and wanted to fix that. I found this audiobook and am so thankful. This book is well written and super easy to follow. I have found several strategies to improve my relationship with myself. I now do daily things to help me be a better me.
