About this listen

Stan Weir is mourning a tragic loss when he meets a mysterious nine-year-old girl, who claims to be the reincarnated spirit of his late wife. Marcy Keef is a single mother trying to make ends meet when her daughter Erin starts describing 'past life memories'. Neither wants to believe Erin, but as violent secrets are revealed, the truth becomes harder to deny.

With echoes of Stephen King, Second Skin is a propulsive thriller about grief, guilt and truths better left unknown.

A Good Suspense Novella

Let's face it, most of the free listens Audible has provided are (using family friendly language) not very good. Second Skin is one of two free offerings this month that I'm happy to have in my library.

Good short listen

I don’t know if this was free or a bargain, but either way it was a good deal. An engaging story and good narrator. I ran out of credits because of extra time for listening during walks while dealing with the Covid-29 quarantine situation and selected this because it was either free or inexpensive. It was too short to be worth using a credit for, but I did enjoy it. Might look for this author and narrator again.

didn't expect it

I think this book was amazing. I was so shocked by the end of the book. It is easy to listen to and keeps you in it all the way to the end.

Short, sweet, and honest.

I liked it. Not entirely predictable . A refreshingly honest and different story than my usual listens. The narrator did a great job.

very interesting and well done

This book was very interesting. It kept me engaged and involved mentally. It was easy to follow but not overly simple and it was very well performed. I'd have loved to know more of what happened after but the ending was also very well done.
