Publisher's summary

A serial killer terrorizing the women of Sacramento meets his match in this pulse-pounding novel from New York Times best-selling author Karen Rose.

There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”.

When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

The necklace is more than a trivial item - it is a link to a cold case Special Agent Gideon Reynolds has been tracking for 17 years. With Daisy’s help, Gideon finally has the opportunity to get closer to the truth than ever before.

But they might not get the chance, as the serial killer has a new target: Gideon and Daisy.

Not a fan

For some reason the voice reading this really threw me off. I could not follow the story at all because of it.

Another amazing book

Karen Rose is a master at her craft! I love how detailed her books are. I especially loved this one because it has a character show up from the first book I ever read of hers. I’m hoping he will finally get as HEA!!
I’m a big fan of the narrator Joel (Leslie) Froomkin. His voice range is amazing. He brings so much life to the books he narrates!

Good story needs better narrator

I enjoy Karen Rose and this was a great story line with some familiar characters and adding to her previous stories with new characters. But I struggled with listening because of the narration. He would have been better off just reading it than trying to give each person a different voice because he did a terrible job at changing voices.

A very bad choice in narrator!

I'm only about a couple of hours into the story but having difficult keeping the characters straight as the narrator, quite frankly, is NOT the right person for this story as his interpretation of the characters is .... TERRIBLE!

Terrible Narrator ruins another Karen Rose Gem

I am so disappointed, I love Karen Rose books but I could hardly get through this one because of the narrator. He absolutely can not do a female voice and Russian accent was making me bonkers! Then joy of joys I see he's narrated the next book in this series. Do yourself a favor and skip the audio of this one.

terrible narrator

I have to stop listening. I cant stand his voice even when he's not putting on a terrible accent for dialogue.

might be a good book; I will never find out, or at least not here.

Awesome!

I absolutely loved this book! It was entertaining in every aspect. It’s thrilling, with a little humor and heat! The narrator took a chapter or 2 for me to get used to, but then I rather enjoyed his performance as well. Will definitely be looking into other books by this author

Good Story/Rough Narrator

I really liked this story and it was written well. the narrator was awful and I almost didn't continue but the story was too interesting to pass up so I dealt wth it. I was frustrated to see the second book is performed by him but im still going to listen. The sex scenes were ridiculous, I skipped through them. Think part Danielle Steel mixed with super cheesy amateur porn. Completely unnecessary.!

too much swearing!

entirely too much unnecessary profanity. didn't add to the storyline at all. Basically a good story.
