About this listen

Cain Killion knows himself to be a damaged man, his only saving grace the extrasensory connection to blood that he uses to catch murderers. His latest case takes a macabre turn when he discovers a familiar and haunting symbol linking the crime to his own horrific past - and only one woman could know what it means.

Mercy Ledger is brave, resilient, beautiful - and in terrible danger. The moment he sees Mercy, Cain knows he's the one who can save her. He also knows he's beyond redemption. But the lines between good and evil blur, and the only thing clear to Cain and Mercy is that they belong together. Love is the antidote for blood - but is their bond strong enough to overcome the evil that stalks them? Contains mature themes.

Really good.

I enjoyed this. I did guess who the killer was but still a great listen. Not to gory or gross.

Looking for something new this is it.....

This book, at first took, me a little bit to understand the story but by chapter two it had me sucked in... I loved this book. I like the realistic writing of the characters even though its fantasy writing... The narrator I think did a fantastic job.... "Roger Wayne", you can read a book...

Monster?

OMG, this is not your usual serial killer book, not by a long way. It is not for the squeamish or those readers with a gentle disposition. What it is, is an intense emotional roller coaster of a ride that had me in tears for much of the story.

Abbie has created a wonderful romantic suspense with complex characters brought vividly to life by Roger's awesome narration. I look forward to listening to more books by this amazing duo....

Saving Mercy

While the story was well written, I had to force myself to keep listening. It was much too gruesome for me.

Plus, the narrator did a terrible job with character voices. There was almost no difference between Mercy's, Dr. Payne's, & Killian's voices. They were all the same high pitched level. It made it difficult to tell who was speaking sometimes.

I won't be reading anymore in this series.

it was dark, yeah. But it was rich in story and the post had some twists and turns.

The narrator was amazing too. 👏
