A great escape for the times our nation is experiencing!
Given the current landscape and times we live this tome was a worthy escape. Randy blended the correct amount of fact based science, sprinkled with human behavior to draw the reader or listener into a very believable yet compelling plot.

Another great book!
Thank you Randy for the wonderful books in the Doc Ford series. I also appreciate George Guidall's narration to the point that three of my four favorite authors use George as their narrator. I look forward to character development as this book ended on a high point. Thank you again!

Another Great Doc Ford Read
I usually wait to read Doc Ford books until I am on a beach on Captiva, but given that it has been a long wait for this book, I caved in and listened to it right away. After so many years and books I still love Doc, his friends and crazy situations. But I also love the Floridian history and education. Having been on the islands during and after the horrid red tide it is nice to realize that nature will rebound. The ending caught me by surprise and I can’t wait for the next Doc Ford or Hannah Smith novel.

ok but not grest
in the past I've enjoyed the stories. this one not so much. the production was below average. at one point it sounded like a new engineer was used, the voice quality changed so much. multiple pronunciations of towns and locations. story wise, the ending made no sense and without explanation for clarity. disappointing.

Classic Randy Wayne White
I enjoyed this novel as I do all of RWW’s books. However, I am not a fan of the narrator. He sounds too mature for the part and his delivery is broken and sometimes disjointed. I just don’t think he’s the best fit. The storyline was good, as usual, and held my interest to the end. A good RWW novel but definitely not his best.

So good I listened twice
I listened to this book a year or so ago when I first started the Doc Ford series. At that point I didn't have a list of the books in their chronological order so this one was listened to out of order. I thought it was good the first time. It was even better after listening to most of the other books in the series.

Doc Ford fans .... wow
As a Doc Ford fan, this is an
expertly woven story. Filled with human regret, but final redemption.
In its blindsiding ending, good triumphs over evil . A "must reccomend" book from this Master author and Golden voiced narrator.
I will probably listen to Salt River again.
