Highly recommend

Russian Legends for Kids was such a fun and surprising listen, my kids and I were completely pulled into the magical world of firebirds, witches, and brave princes. The stories are just the right mix of spooky, funny, and heartwarming, and they’re told in a way that’s super engaging without feeling too “educational.”

Excellent Magical Journey

It also gently introduces Russian culture and values, sparking curiosity without overwhelming young readers. Favorites in our home include Ivan Tsarevich and the Firebird and The Brave Little Tortoise

So much fun!

This was super cool. Honestly didn’t expect to get hooked like that lol—thought it’d be light stuff for kids but I ended up learning a lot too. The stories are packed with charm and that perfect blend of spooky, magical, and wise. Baba Yaga is creepy and awesome, Ivan and the Firebird felt like a full-on movie in my head, and that underwater music kingdom? SO good. The fun facts between stories were a nice touch—made it more than just a fairy tale book. Loved the mix of adventure and cleverness in every tale. And yeah, it’s for kids technically… but as a musician and someone always curious about culture, this was gold. Good balance between myth and history, and the extra activities would be great if you’re reading it with kids (or teaching). Totally worth the listen—even if you’re way past 12!

This audiobook is an absolute gem! My 9-year-old was completely captivated by the rich storytelling, magical creatures, and fascinating characters like Baba Yaga and the Firebird. The tales are told in a way that's both exciting and easy to follow, with just the right mix of adventure, humor, and important life lessons. The bonus facts and activities were a great touch—we even acted out a few scenes at home! A perfect blend of culture and imagination. Highly recommended for curious kids (and adults, too)!

My Son Loved IT

This audiobook is a magical journey through enchanted forests, icy kingdoms, and legendary courts of Russian folklore. You get the eerie mystique of Baba Yaga, populized by the John Wick series...to the Firebird. The narration is great and really makes the story comes to life. There is every element of the classic heroes journey with this book: bravery, cleverness, kindness, and a little bit of eerie magic in every story. I highly recommend this book for kids and adults alike, its just a fun book

Entertaining

Russian Legend for kids by History Brought Alive is a wonderful way to learn about Russian mythology. Guy Barnes did a fantastic work with the narration and he makes it entertaining. The story is interesting, entertaining, engaging, enjoyable and keeps kids interested and engaged. It’s a great way for kids to learn about different cultures. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Highly recommend.
