About this listen

After a shocking discovery, Emery and her companions face the cold, hard truth about the post-pandemic world.

In a desperate attempt to save some part of humanity from the devastating Withers plague, the Architect created 12 Safe Domes - cities encapsulated inside of electromagnetic barrier fields. But something went wildly wrong, and the people inside are now prisoners to their own perilous protectors.

With a single focus of rescuing those she cares for, can Emery find a way to do what no one else has been able to - free the prisoners of the Safe Domes once and for all?

Ruins of Ember is book three in the young adult, dystopian, post-apocalyptic Wall of Fire Series.

Excellent Conclusion to a page-turning series

I completely loved the conclusion to this series. It was just as fantastic a read as the first two books in the trilogy and I highly recommend it to fans of well-written dystopian YA. I particularly think fans of the Hunger Games series and The Maze series will thoroughly enjoy the Wall of Fire series. Honestly it's the best of its genre that I have read in years. Ever since being burned by the last of the Divergent books (possibly the worst final book ever), I am leery of trilogies in this genre, but I can confidently say readers won't regret investing their reading time with the Wall of Fire series.

That said, I won't claim it's perfect. There are a couple minor head scratch moments, but nothing that can't be explained away. And they are so minor I almost didn't even mention them. Many readers probably won't even notice them. I also could have done without the mild soapbox feel of the final 3 or 4 sentences, but whatever. Everything else was great. So, seriously, just read this trilogy already!

I mentioned it in my review of book 2, Scattered Ashes, but I will restate it here: the narration is perfect. Some of the best I've heard. The range of characters portrayed so distinctly and effectively is incredibly impressive.

Oh, and I am a book blogger who reads A LOT of books, but this was personal choice read and I have zero connection to anyone connected to this novel. I bought all the books in this series on my own dime just because I wanted to read them. That said...I may decide to officially review them soon just because I LOVED the story so much.
