About this listen

In a league full of troublemakers, Cold Fury defenseman Roman Sýkora stands out - at least when it comes to negative publicity. When he's not chilling in the penalty box, the sizzling Czech skate demon is racking up tabloid headlines for his scandalous behavior with the ladies. But now Roman's feeling the burn from management to clean up his act, or else. Luckily he's got an enticing distraction: a fun-loving barista who plays the ukulele and brings out a side of Roman he didn't know he had.

Lexi Robertson came to Raleigh, North Carolina, to finally meet her father, Brian Brannon, and her half sister, Gray, both of whom work in the Cold Fury's front office. That's where she first meets sexy, intimidating Roman - who's really a big softie at heart. As one relationship takes off, another begins: Brian seems to be clicking with Lexi's boss at the coffeeshop. But when the friction between Roman and her new family heats up, Lexi wonders whether she's a pawn in their game. Feeling hurt and foolish, Lexi's ready to quit while she's ahead. Trouble is, Roman's not ready to quit on her.

love, love loved it.

Bennet knocks it out the park again with the Cold Fury series. I'm not suprised and have no complaints. I'll be moving on to my next book in the series soon. but I will say it threw me that the inclusion of the Cold Furys owners own romance was included in this story. i did geek out a bit thinking of Brian, who is like 195 yrs old, in a romantic fashion. but i got over it. on to the next book........

GREAT SERIES

I really enjoyed this hockey romance & Roman has such an ooey gooey heart. His parents scar his childhood & makes bonding with anyone, friends, girlfriend & family gatherings, too. Lexi is a great heart with a GLOWING PRESENCE that makes a profound impact on others. Gray, the sister & GM of the hockey team, ia the nemesis of their relationship & is just a beotch in this tale. I give my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes.

Really fun!

I highly enjoyed this 7th book in the Cold Fury hockey series! Roman, the hero, is one of those players who is always making trouble for the team, whether it's fights or naked pics on Twitter. The heroine, Lexie, is the unknown daughter of Brian Brannon and sister to Gray Brannon. Gray is suspicious at first, but comes to accept that she has a sister. Roman meets Lexie on the day she comes to the team offices to try to meet her father, who she found out about just before her mother's death. He's instantly drawn toward her and the feeling is mutual. Things are complicated by Gray not having any liking or respect for Roman. It's entertaining to see how all these family shenanigans work out, because Brian meets Georgia (Lexie's boss) and they fall in love too. Great narration as always! I hope there are more books in this series!

Curve Ball tossed into the CCF Hockey Family

This story was full of surprises. Lexi’s first bombshell within the second chapter is just Wowzers, but it turns to be such a beautiful unsuspecting surprise. Also, I thoroughly loved the surprise of getting Brian Brennan’s POV at certain points throughout the story as he has a huge role when the story starts. The beautiful part of this story is that you see the development of two wonderful couples grow and develop along side with the men the two hero’s get out of their comfort zone to get their own HEA with two strong opinionated and independent women.

It’s a must read and I would recommend listening to Ryker’s story before listening to this one to get a better perspective of some of the side characters that stay constant throughout the story. Ryker’s story is also just fantastic and he is a wonderful hero (literally and you’ll figure that out when you read or listen to his story).

The narrators were great however the way Lexi’s voice kept being described I did not feel the female narrators voice went very well with how Lexi was described. She did a great job though overall. The male narrator was fantastic he was able to go from Czech slight accent to a regular American accent to distinguish Brian from Roman.

One of the best of the Cold Fury Hockey stories

This one needs to be read in order with the rest of the series but is a bonus 2 romances within the Brannigan family. It introduces a couple of charming, interesting ladies that are good additions to the team and will add some levity to future stories. The main plot has a good premise and while there is the usual dealing with over the top female fans the player in this instance is recognizes the media quagmire and also considers his girl’s probable feelings as well as his own discomfort, showing real growth and maturity. Roman’s character transforms as does Gray, Lexie, and their dad. Would like to have had a little more character development with Georgia and more lively interaction between Ryker and Gray as in the past they are not always in agreement but basically a good story. I do wish the rest were on the Romance package like the earlier books. This one was worth the purchase.

Unapologetic Bad Boy on Ice

Roman is so bad that he's good -- truly another ice hockey god. And definitely good for the sweet and charming Lexie. The special treat of this book is that it's two love stories in one book. The Brannons are an endearing family and they find a way to pass that sense of family throughout the Cold Fury team. I love that these relationships are so entwined with the team and team politics. Sawyer Bennett has written another hit in this series.

The narrators were good but Graham Halstead did not speak Roman's voice with an accent. I really wanted to hear the accent.

Definitely worth a credit. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Accent

I LOVED the story. However I’ve been itching to make this review through most of the book because of my annoyance at the narrator accents. The female narrator read Roman’s lines with a Czech accent and the male narrator gave no accent at all. I know there is no perfect way to handle the situation with accents, but at least they could have coordinated that a little bit. Leave a note for them about whether they should have an accent or not or SOMETHING. It was annoying and distracting.
