About this listen

My little brother’s girlfriend was always supposed to be mine.

The first time I met good girl Maggie Sullivan, she was my brother’s guest at Sunday dinner. That should have been enough to keep me away. It wasn’t.

The night I lost my tightly held control—she kissed me back and it was everything I could have ever imagined.

Until our lives changed forever as my family went down in flames.

I left and never planned to come back to our small town.

Now, years later, everyone knows my songs. The ones I wrote about her. The scars that never healed, bleeding out on stage.

Fame and its late nights get tiring, so I’ve returned to Little Falls to right my wrongs.

With only twenty-four hours until perfect, little Maggie Sullivan is reelected mayor uncontested, I decide to throw a wrench into her plans.

Except I’m the one getting screwed again because all these years later, she’s still the only woman I want.

This is a small town former friends to enemies to lovers romance with mid-level open door steam/spice.

Content considerations: discussions of parental death and grief

I had the pleasure of diving into Wendy Million's captivating novel, *Rival Hearts*, and it was like savoring a rich, delicious chocolate truffle – satisfying, indulgent, and utterly irresistible. This charming second-chance romance hooked me from the start, thanks to its delightful enemies-to-lovers dynamic that's as exhilarating as a spicy jalapeño on a taco night. The characters are so well-crafted that I felt like they were part of my dinner party! A great story evokes many emotions, and I found myself laughing, tearing up, and holding my breath in suspense – all within just a few chapters. This delightful adventure kicks off the *Little Falls Series*. The playful banter and clever quips between Maggie and Grady brought so much joy to my reading experience that I couldn't help but smile. Their heartwarming journey was thoroughly engaging, like a perfect cup of hot cocoa on a chilly day – it lifts your spirits, sweeps you away on an emotional ride, and wraps up with a satisfying sense of fulfillment, just like finding that last piece of chocolate in the box. Well, that was a ridiculously good time in my ears!! 👏👏👏👏 This small-town romance is everything a romance fiction should be. The characters had chemistry that built as the relationship grew. They were antagonistic but in the best possible way with excellent wit and banter. The story mirrored life with its ups and downs which made it that much more enjoyable for me. I am 100% behind realistic fiction. I like the good to come with the bad because life, no matter how you try and spin it, is grey. It’s never heartwarming without a little bit of heartbreak. It’s never emotional without a little bit of comedic relief. It’s never just about the MCs but the community as a whole that surrounds them, which makes secondary characters very important and, in this case, I loved them all! This is my first experience with this author, and I want more!

Corvin King & Charlotte North added something special with their performance. Thru them I was able to vividly “see” the story unfold and that’s something that is very important for me when I listen to an audio. However, Corvin King has a very distinctive tone to his voice and that particular tone does not translate well into a female tone. Feel me? He’s the narrator you want in duet performances, not dual performances, but he’s great in all other aspects.

This was my first experience with this author, and I hope to be able to listen to more of this series in the future!

This was a great listen. We have a bit of a miscommunication due to a secret. The rivalry between the FMC and MMC was exciting and kept me engaged and entertained. I definitely recommend this story. I love Corvin King voice and I was so excited when I saw he was the male narrator. Charlotte North and Corvin King did an amazing job narrating this story.

Loved it!

This was the first book I listened to by W. Million and I enjoyed it. This was a sweet second chance, enemies to lovers romance story. I thought the characters and the story were well written.

Corvin King & Charlotte North were the narrators of this audiobook. I felt like they did a good job telling this story. They held my attention through the book and made my listening experience enjoyable.

Maggie is the town mayor and is expected to win a second term. That is until Grady, a famous musician and the older brother of her high school boyfriend, returns and decides to run just to annoy her. But as they are running against each other things start happening between them and it's not all fun and games to Grady anymore.

Maggie and Grady were really sweet characters and I enjoyed their banter along the way. This book will have you laughing, smiling, make you emotional but will leave you with a sweet ending. If your looking for a small town, enemies to lovers romance then I would definitely recommend this audiobook. I look forward to reading or listening to more of her book.

Maggie and Grady had been friends when they were younger. But she was dating his brother and things happened, which led to them becoming enemies.

It took me a while to like Grady. He was charming, for sure, but he constantly blamed Maggie for everything that went wrong.

The two of them had a complicated and messy past. But the connection between them never truly faded.

This was angsty and emotional. My heart broke for Maggie. She was strong and always doing her best to help those around her. And when she went through something devastating? Well, that was when Grady finally realized what was important.

Narration Style: Dual

These two did a great job bringing the story and characters to life.

This was my first read by the author and I quite enjoyed it. I loved the fun little small town, the story was entertaining and the writing was top notch.

Maggie is the pharmacist in town and also the mayor. Grady is back in town after years away and he is determined to cause some trouble, starting with running against Maggie for mayor! Maggie used to date Grady’s brother Trent, but she always had a special pull towards Grady. But when Trent gets himself in trouble, everything changes.

I enjoyed their banter back and forth and their enemies to lovers relationship. As much as Grady would say he doesn’t like Maggie, he sure went out of his way to help her. All of the chaos that came with running for mayor had me laughing but also so invested in the story!

The audiobook was narrated by Corvin King & Charlotte North. Both did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Their pacing was flawless and their chemistry balanced each other.

This is an ex-boyfriends brother, small town, sort of enemies to lovers book.

Maggie and Grady have a history, her family never judged him, her father helped him. Now that he has returned, so have the memories. While he and Maggie still have the chemistry, is it a slow burn to get to the HEA.

Corvin King & Charlotte North did an excellent job at bringing these characters to life through the audio.

So so good!

Charlotte North and Corvin King were the absolute perfect casting for this book. They did such an amazing job at bringing not only Maggie and Grady to life but also all the side characters. Their narration honestly made me like the story even more than I did when I read it last year when it first came out. I would also like to point out that Charlotte has one of the best male voices I've heard so far.

Grady and Maggie have a complicated history filled with secrets and heartbreak. After years of not seeing each other, they find themselves rivals for the position of mayor of the small town where they both grew up. During the electoral race, Maggie and Grady realize that the connection they have is far greater than anything that happened in the past to drive them apart.

One of the things I really loved about this story was the level of loyalty in Maggie and Trent's friendship, even with Trent being Grady's brother. I also enjoyed how the author showed us how one bad assumption can destroy the strongest of friendships, and how the path to forgiveness is not always an easy one.

Quote: “You protected my heart, even when I didn’t deserve it, and I haven’t been able to do the same for you. I want to, though. I want to spend hours, days, weeks, years tending to your heart.”

“I choose you. Wherever you are, that’s where I want to be.”
