With the unlikely team of his childhood nemesis Archie Donovan and his elderly Uncle Wayne, Barry goes undercover in an effort to draw out the truth. But the stakes are higher than he realized - and the life of a Cherokee boy becomes the wager. Barry must play his cards very carefully in his riskiest undertaking yet.

Excellent mystery with likable hero

I absolutely love the Buryin’ Barry series of mysteries. This is one of the best. It has an interesting mystery with a lot of twists and turns. I like the character of Barry, who is an undertaker and a part-time sheriff’s deputy. He has a quirky humor that I enjoy.

The reader of this series is just excellent. He does a great job on accents and different voices

My only slight complaint would be, why aren’t all the books in the series available as audiobooks? The publisher chose a block of three books right in the middle of the series. The earlier books are just as great and deserve the audiobook treatment as well. There’s also another book after this one that is not available as an audiobook. I am glad to have the ones that are available. They are very enjoyable and I highly recommend them.

The book did not make me cry or laugh but I did go to the refrigerator eight times.
