About this listen

The searing, visionary memoir of founding Black Panther Huey P. Newton

Tracing the birth of a revolutionary, Huey P. Newton's famous and oft-quoted autobiography is as much a manifesto as a portrait of the inner circle of America's Black Panther Party. From Newton's impoverished childhood on the streets of Oakland to his adolescence and struggles with the system, from his role in the Black Panthers to his solitary confinement in the Alameda County Jail, Revolutionary Suicide is unrepentant and thought-provoking in its portrayal of inspired radicalism.

Great Read!

After watching Judas and the Black Messiah for the 3rd time I decided to give this a listen and was not disappointed. Loved all 13 hours of this book. I will definitely read all the other books referenced such as “Soledad Brother”.

Huey knowledge of the law & how he used it to his advantage was remarkable.

Huey P. Newton was a brilliant man with just as many faults as any human. His similarities to Malcolm X were within close resembles outside of Malcolm’s religious beliefs. My only criticism of the book would probably be the order of events or how they were chronologically written, but even that is a stretch. This is a profound piece of literature that every PERSON should listen to or read.

A great read (or listen)

Not only is this a great listen, it’s a great book that’s well written. Even though I’m not big on autobiographies, I’m glad I read it.
