God's Debris isn't a conventional book. It is written on three separate levels, by Scott Adams, better known as the creator of the Dilbert comic. What is less known about Adams is that he's a trained hypnotist. God's Debris is what happens when creativity and hypnosis intersect. On the surface, God's Debris is a simple fictional story of a delivery man who encounters an Avatar who knows literally everything.

You might believe you’re thinking clearly in the moments that matter most. But in all likelihood, when the pressure is on, you won’t be thinking at all. And your subsequent actions will inevitably move you further from the results you ultimately seek—love, belonging, success, wealth, victory. According to Farnam Street founder Shane Parrish, we must get better at recognizing these opportunities for what they are, and deploying our cognitive ability in order to achieve the life we want.

Are you familiar with this old saying?
“All publicity is good publicity.”
That’s a classic reframe. The quote shifts your thinking from the shame of whatever you did wrong to your probable benefit. You can’t change the past, but you can change how you feel about it.
Trained hypnotist and persuasion expert Scott Adams has packed more than 160 new, counterintuitive, and effective reframes into Reframe Your Brain. For example:
Usual Frame: Manage your time.
Reframe: Manage your energy.
Usual Frame: Success depends on who you know.
Reframe: Success depends on how many people you know.
Usual Frame: Your critics are evil monsters.
Reframe: Your critics are your mascots.
Usual Frame: The universe is acting against you.
Reframe: The universe owes you.
Usual Frame: Luck is random and can’t be managed.
Reframe: You can go where there is more luck (more energy).
These instant perspective-shifters will help you feel better on demand and succeed at any endeavor without the usual pain or pitfalls. The reframe collection covers personal fulfillment, business and career success, mental health, social activities, and physical well-being. If only 10 percent of the reframes work for you, your life will never be the same.
Prepare to embark on a journey of transformation as Scott Adams shares his most invaluable insights and practical techniques to date, empowering you to reprogram your own reality using words alone.

The secret to finding out anything you want to know is amazingly simple: Ask good questions. Most people trip through life asking bad questions - of teachers, friends, coworkers, clients, prospects, experts, and suspects. Even people trained in questioning, such as journalists and lawyers, commonly ask questions that get partial or misleading answers. People in any profession will immediately benefit by developing the skill and art of good questioning.

Originalism, the view that the meaning of a constitutional provision is fixed when it is adopted, was once the fringe theory of a few extremely conservative legal scholars but is now a well-accepted mode of constitutional interpretation. Noted legal scholar Erwin Chemerinsky gives a comprehensive analysis of the problems that make originalism unworkable as a method of constitutional interpretation. He argues that the framers themselves never intended constitutional interpretation to be inflexible and shows how it is often impossible to know the "original intent" of any provision.

My only disappointment was …
… that Scott Adams did not narrate the book himself (grin^grin); although I was listening to the podcast episode, where he described why he gave up on doing his own narration.
Content was compelling enough that I also bought the paperback version.
While listening to the narration during my commute to/from work, I had the opportunity to literally reframe an event at work such that the stress melted away regarding the event. BRAVO !!!

An antidote for our times
We live in a time of media message saturation. Gone are the moments digested from "news at 11pm". Doesn't matter if persuasion is coming at you from the Right Left or Center.. it's "a coming" and how your brain processes that amount of information will change your life and literally every relationship you have in this world. So you better pay attention to how it's framed and by whom. Better yet...YOU can learn and train YOUR brain to reframe it to fit your life. What a simple yet powerful concept.
In Reframe Your Brain, Scott Adams provides a powerful mental roadmap to do just that. Importantly, this book does more than that. It provides a straight forward, easily understood and adopted system...indeed an "operating system" for your brain". I have listened to it about three times already and still finding new actionable lessons on how to frame the inbound data information and learnings.

May be best personal success book ever
I almost can’t describe how life changing this book is. So many of the reframes have already started helping me. Instead of convincing me that it will work, the author says that it might work. There are so many reframes and they are so easy that it is inconceivable that they wouldn’t help. “Sugar is poison” has already helped me make better eating decisions.
I love the suggestions on giving feedback to people. “You’ve done stronger work” is a great positive reframe.
I have listened to Scott’s podcasts so for the first few minutes the different voice was distracting. But he has a great narration voice so I actually ended up thinking it was better than the authors.
I listen/read tens of books each year and this tops the list for the past several years. I highly recommend.

Insightful wisdom
I am a skeptic and have read over a hundred self-help books. I approached this book with the attitude of "I'm not expecting much because it's probably a retread of general self-help principles. But I'll give this book a try."
I had no idea how meaningful some of Scott's insights would be to me.
It's very good.

Catchy title makes you think.
As expected, Mr. Adams scores a grand slam. While I do not agree with all the reframes, he himself reminds us to find the ones that help and use those to better ourselves and our lives. Highly recommended.
