'Life is real...but this is Realer....'

Realer promises a new virtual reality, a safe and sanitised window into a virtual existence without the risks of the real, crumbling, post-pandemic society beyond the door.

Sixteen-year-old Charlotte 'Charlie' Mackintosh is a loner whose father works for the company. He gives her Realer for her birthday - only to be murdered as she watches through her high-tech hood at home. Alone in a tense post-lockdown world, Charlie has to turn to Realer to find his killers. She’s soon trapped in a murderous conspiracy behind a system that’s steadily beginning to take over people’s lives. Charlie comes to understand that she can only hide from outside dangers for so long.

In the end, the only way to defeat them is face-to-face, in the real world. A place she fears more than any.

Audie Award-winning author David Hewson’s edgy dystopian near-future thriller gives us a chilling glimpse into what our post-pandemic world could become.

Another Hewson Masterpiece!

Profound thoughts in story form are shared with us by the author on the illusionary, virtual worlds currently ensnaring our modern, “advanced” society. Much appreciate the light Mr. Hewson shines on the virtual riptides that could pull us under if we’re not careful.

Pretty good if you’re into mystery

It was a good book just not for my liking, it had the right amount of mystery, details, and characters were decently developed.

I loved the performance, I think Gemma’s the reason I kept on listening! I think the only hiccup with the narration was the American accent, if it had not been mentioned that a character was American therefore he had an American accent I wouldn’t have guessed, I mean I could tell she tried to bring out that accent but it just didn’t work too well but other than that, Gemma was super awesome.

Would You Choose This World?

In the not too distant future, a pandemic which almost brought the world to a standstill is over. People are afraid to venture out for fear of reviving the virus. Enter "Realer", a program advertised as a virtual world that allows you to go anywhere and meet anyone from the safety of your home. But Realer is not what what it seems. Charlie, afraid to venture out, except for school, is given the gift of Realer by her father for her birthday. At first it is a dream come true until she sees her father murdered in this virtual world. Charlie must now conquer her fears and venture out to search for the murderer. With no help from the police, she searches for the people who killed her father and finds herself embroiled in a world where others want control what you see, think and feel. Will she find the murderer and set the world free from total control of others? David Hewson wrote a mind bending and thought provoking story that could be a possibility. Gemma Whelan gave a magnificent performance.
