Enjoyable

This book was so entertaining. I really liked Ariana, I liked her with Quil. I am definitely continuing on with this series. I have to know who Ariana ends up with and I so want to know what Grant is. Amie Gibbons is a new to me author and I like her.

Interesting idea …

The overall story was interesting with quite a few twists. However, I’m not a fan of good characters being killed off after time was invested in making me like them. Also, the reader was not my favorite as her main character voice was too whiny and high pitched to my ears. I recommend reading this one rather than listening

Good start but fizzled - performance was great

When I got to the end I was disappointed. Heroine was ditzy, likeable but almost ineffective. The ending was unfulfilling to say the least. - the heroine didn't inspire or entertain. Everyone else cleaned up her mistakes and her messes. Broad hints at more powers (typical hook for a follow-on story) but nothing to prove she wouldn't just clutter up the next case. I wanted her to develop more and become the charger that was hinted but we never saw.

A Southern Dresden Files

This book has a newbie FBI agent with southern charm and a whole lot of sass that finds herself in the middle of a plot to kill humans and frame vampires. At first I thought the voice sounded a bit young, but as the story went on, it turns out to be a perfect fit.

Interesting story

Exciting story and the action was interesting, but that was about it for me. It sounded like several other vampire stories and events.

Too crazy

Nothing made sense and not very real. The voices suck. One of the men sounds like a bad impression of Arnold Schwarzenegger
I’m not usually a negative person but this was not a believable story

Pass this one by

Maybe I'd give a higher rating if I just read the book because the narration is horrible and definitely ruins any enjoyment in this novel approach to a law enforcement procedural. I have a lot of southern friends with heavy accents and none of them say wri'en for written, etc. The different character voices are terrible, with the narrator just changing from high and squeaky to low and gruff, and there isn't any consistency between different speeches for the same character. If the narrator wants to improve herself she needs to listen to the Amelia Peabody series with Barbara Rosenblatt, or the Warlock Holmes series with Robert Garson. I would never recommend this audiobook to anyone, just pass on by.
