About this listen

I moved to the land I inherited in the Pacific Northwest against the warnings of others. The tales of Bigfoot had always run rampant in the area, but I didn't give it a second thought
Until I ran across one!
Not only are bigfoots real, they can speak. And, um, they are very human-like, only much larger.
He protects me from his kind, who don't want me around.
Is it possible to fall in love with a bigfoot? Asking for a friend...

No sexy beast to be found

“Two beings sharing in the wonders of nature…”
Meh, this was more about communing with nature and living in peace and harmony than it was a romance. The word “wonder” was thrown down a lot, along with constantly telling us how Kaitlyn or Mozon’s heart squeezed with emotion. The single get-together was just vague talk of bodies meeting and transcendant feelings.

The virtual voice narration didn’t help with the lukewarm listen. The worst thing about the virtual voice is that Mozon, an eight foot tall Bigfoot, and Kaitlyn, a delicate human, sound exactly the same. I often found myself thinking one was talking and then realizing it was the other all along. Virtual voice still needs work with the extreme emotions, like surprise or anguish, or just lengthening the “mmmm” when voicing Kaitlyn enjoying some food (which the Virtual Voice pronounced as “m”).

A random observation: it sounded like the virtual voice was created by stealing from Chandra Skyye’s narration of other books (why else would there be occasional cracked voice sounds). If Audible is using A.I. to read books using recordings of real live narrators, I sure hope those narrators are getting credit.

Poor AI narration

The story was thin, character development nonexistent and full of continuity errors. The AI narration was flat. There was no change in inflection between characters and was hard to follow.
I would not be surprised if the book was AI written and was not edited by a human.
Only good thing about it was it was included with my membership and I didn’t pay extra for this.
