Proposing to Preston

It could have been better. He forgave her to easily after all she put him through. It just felt too rushed. I didn't feel any of her feelings toward him throughout the story. I mean, I felt more of her passion for her career than their relationship. Even when she came back it seemed more like she was feeling unloved and unappreciated and she needed a boost from his view in always putting her on a pedestal because he loved her so much. I honestly felt sorry for Preston. This is a 3.5 rating.

When is it too late?

I asked to receive this free review Audible book and wrote this unbiased review. This is a story of moving too fast before finally knowing what is important in your life. Preston is such a compassionate and loving man. He was crushed when an accident kept him from achieving his goal of being in the Olympics. However, he is devastating when Elise chooses her desire to make it as an actress over him. Elise is a young woman whose goal is to become an actress. When she marries she panics. This story really deals with immaturity and making decisions without thinking them through. You need to find yourself in order to really be able to bond with another. This is what the two of them must do. It also deals with understanding and forgiveness. The narrator does a great job of making us feel the emotions of these characters. I recommend this Audible book.

great series

good read. enjoying the series so far. the narrator is enjoyable to listen too as well.

Love at first site!

Love at first site...that is how I fell in love with Preston. I have fallen for all of the Blueberry Lane heroes, but have to say, Preston has made a lasting place in my heart. Preston first sees Elise while on a date with Beth Atwell. It was lust at first site. You can't help but root for this relationship, and fall for both of them...the young law student and the plain, Mennonite actress. Elise ends up breaking his heart(and you feel the pain right along with Preston). I remember hearing about how Preston doesn't date in Bidding on Brooks, so was anxious to hear the reason why, and I completely understand now. I did want to shake him when he was still carrying the torch two years later...but was pleasantly surprised with the ending. While Preston was able to see issues on both sides of the relationship, which I give him lots of credit for, I found him totally charming, loving, considerate, compassionate and forgiving. Elise does a lot of growing through the story as well.

Lauren Sweet again delivers an outstanding performance.

I wasn't sure about this story at first. As I kept listening I became more hooked. I enjoyed the characters and revisiting previous friends & family members was great.

Lauren Sweet continues to do a fabulous job narrating.

Preston and Elise were perfection together.

Preston and Elise were perfection together. The soul deep connection and magnetic chemistry were beautiful to behold. Katy Regnery did a wonderful job of letting the characters become friends and slowly build up to something more. The slow progression into love is what made it so heartbreaking when these two people were apart. Elise was definitely a go-getter when it came to following her dreams and that tenacity was a central part of her character. Preston led with his heart and that is what made me his biggest fan. Proposing to Preston is really something special. Each time I read a Katy Regnery book I grow more fond of her as a writer. 

The book revolves around the idea of ‘timing'

I’m quite enjoying this series. After Brooks and his fear of commitment, we get Preston’s story and, unlike his brother, he couldn’t commit to the woman he loves fast enough. Even though his bride has more reservations…

Preston and Elise’s first meeting was adorable, and I loved how their relationship developed. He really took the time to seduce her, he supported her, helped her. While it happened quickly, their marriage wasn’t just a spur of the moment. Preston was very sure of his feelings, and even though Elise ran away, their marriage meant something to both of them. The whole book revolves around the idea of ‘timing’–sometimes, something happens not exactly at the right time, but that doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t happen at all.

They both have to discover who they are and what they want, and that takes the whole second part of the book before they’re finally ready to fully commit to each other. It implies making sacrifices, but when it’s the right reason and the right time, they aren’t sacrifices anymore–I liked that idea.

I didn’t enjoyed the narration though. It was overly dramatic, and not always convincing.

Not my fav in the series. Liked the characters just not the story

This one really didn’t do anything for me. The story wasn’t up to par with the previous one. I completely believed how Gaga Preston was over Elise. He seemed intense for her but she didn’t seem the same. I almost wish that the first half of the book wasn’t so long. The second half was much better.

I wish there was more interactions with the family. Camaraderie would add a lot here.
I listened to this On audio and Lauren Sweet does a wonderful job and is easy to listen to

second chance

I was not a fan of Elise, because she threw away a heart that loved her in exchange for fame and fortune , a hard cold mistress . How do you choose a thing over a person. The results of her callousness was a bitter Preston. He deserved a second chance. but she threw hers away like old bath water. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

Just don’t, trust me!

I hate giving bad reviews, but I hate wasting my time more. The narration is the same voice from the previous book. Bummer, b/c she’s pretty terrible she makes the male voice this low sort of whisper that sounds like she’s trying to make him sound sexy. It’s not sexy, just nearly inaudible. Then the male supposedly sexy voice sound sort of Steve Urkel annoying.

As if the narration wasn’t bad enough, I do not like the heroine in this story. She is selfish and while she eventually apologizes persistently, she has no redeemable qualities to me.

So glad I got this as an audible romance package listen, instead of buying the ebook for $4.
