If you loved him, and I did, you could never stop trying to pull him back into the lifeboat, but you just couldn’t. He was always just out of reach. It would have been easier to cut him loose if he was just an obvious lost cause. The fact that the world left him behind is no reason to ignore his existence. It’s the opposite. The fact that the world left him behind is the reason someone needs to tell his story.

Ben, the main character, is a bit of a jerk at times, but his flaws make him relatable and real. You’ll find yourself rooting for him and his complicated relationships with Maria and Erin, who are equally fascinating. The love triangle adds just the right amount of drama to keep things interesting.

Really interesting perspective!

I thought this book provided a really interesting insight into how things work from a lawyers perspective during a case. I found the book to not only be highly informative but also very entertaining and exciting as well. If you want to learn more about the justice system then I highly recommend this book!

If you are into lawyer novels, and like romance in it, then you have come to the right book. I fell like you'll like it, if you are into both of those things.

Glad there will a part 2!

This is a really fun listen. I love political satire, and this nails it. I mean, it's terrifying to think that the government works like this, but I sense there is some reality to this fiction. Excellent narrator too.

I love how this book incorporates a mix of romance, satire, and comedy all laced into Seattle's legal world. There is a lot of depth here in the writing as it blends realism, absurdity and dark humor that critiques legal and corporate culture. The narration is also quite well done and entertaining. I am looking forward to more from Christopher Stockwell! If you're looking for an introspective romance that is equal parts unconventional and witty, this is for you!
