About this listen

There is something truly wrong at Boucher House on the Old Pearl River. Some hidden evil lurking deep inside the woods. Nothing about their blissful life is what it seems. Because just when they think they have it all, he shows up to take it back.

Indie

I have them all now. Just the way I want them. McKay, the one who loves me deepest. Adam, the one who protects me fiercely. Donovan, the one who tells the truth. They are my friends, they are my lovers, they are my world. And Maggie belongs to all of us, no matter who her father is. This is the family I’ve always wanted. This is the family I deserve. And I will do whatever it takes to keep them.

Mckay

I have a secret that could ruin everything. But I’m not keeping that secret to hurt her. Nathan St. James needed to go.

Adam

I made a plan that could ruin everything. But I did it to save us in the end. The Company needed to come back.

Donovan

I told a lie that could ruin everything. But I didn’t tell the lie to them - I told it to myself. Carter is closer than we think.

It's a cliff hanger and I don't know who to trust

Hmmm...well cleared up some confusion, however still some crazy ending. I feel like there were other books to put pieces together in this series, but who knows. Narration was decent.

holy mind blown

yoo first of all did it get hot in hurr? it did and I enjoyed it! every damn chapter was a plot twist and cliffhanger. all the lies, and all the mystery that was revealed. I'm so happy with everything. I'm I mad about what Adam said at the end about him and McKay not doing the deed anymore with indie ? yes but I understand their love. also NICK MF TATE.

YAS AND YAS TO THE AMAZING NARRATORS AGAIN THEU DELIVERED THE HOT SCENES, THE EMOTIONS THEY PUT IN. MHHM AHEM!!

Hair-standing awesome

I loved Donavan and so disappointed his life turned out this way. Why couldn't it be Nathan who was the bad one. Loved the story though just hates it when one of my hero turned evil

Wow ... !!!

What a glorious mind bending mess !!! I can't even decided if I liked Beautiful or Pretty or... I'm just undecided. First because I DID NOT see that coming at the end of Pretty. Huss sure is good at taking that Big Pic mixing it up and spreading it out for you to filter through slowly and tortuously piece by piece all while you "think" you are putting it together. I guess you could call the last 20 to 25 minutes an answer to the story but it felt more like another puzzle piece than an answer. It did not feel like everything was settled. I have lots of question. In fact I've read other Company stories even the more recent Way books and I have never felt like I have "got" what was going on big pic wise. Second I did enjoy the suspense, the mystery, the little bread crumbs. But I missed the excitement and action and fighting of previous Company stories. They go off and do jobs but they are mere after thoughts to the story line, things we are told not things we get to experience. Indie was trained but it wasn't something the reader got to go through with her. Adam and Core are running things but again its more of a mention, a lead in maybe? Third the sexual relationships between Indie, Adam, Core and Donovan never felt okay. I did want her to have her version of happy and she deserved a fair bit of happy but ... Core was something like a father to Indie he was an adult male in his 20's when she came into their home at the age of 10 and she became his charge. Donovan was only 5 years older than her but he was also a care taker a doctor and it felt wrong like he had an advantage over her. Sure she was 20 an adult when it all came to a sexual point with Core and Adam at least but with the past they had it never felt right. But it is Company and Indie was not ever truly innocent or a child neither were the guys so even though it felt wrong it felt inevitable. Last a large part of Indie's story her thoughts her journals the tapes were centered around Nathan and the swamp and their adventures. But Nathan himself was another one of those things we got told about not one we got to be present for. I would have liked his presence in this series to be more like Adam's and Core's and Donovan's it would have been easier to believe his roll and his love. It would have been easier to understand the ending as it was. I am finding it hard to review with out dropping fat spoilers all over the place and messing up the torture/pleaser for others LOL.

As for the audio. It was awesome what a GREAT cast. But speaking of cast why not read it that way instead of having Shane East do his version of Indie and the others... It would have been really cool with this much talent in play to have it read seamlessly, consistently. But still you can't go wrong with any of the audio talent.

Spectacular

Amazingly different. I absolutely loved it and will listen to it again and again. It's definitely not your typical book, and that's why is so captivating.

Mind Blown!

JA Huss is a must buy author for me because of her intricate plots, her brilliant storytelling and the continuing story arc that involves Indie, Donovan, NcKay and Nathan in an ever changing drama that grabbed my by the heart and wouldn’t let me go. All four narrators are at the top of their game and played their characters to perfection! I was riveted! Thanks for another mind bender, J.A. Huss!
