About this listen

Disaster movie 2012 meets Moon in this thrilling story full of scientific advancements.

The Destroyer of Earth did not set out to be one. A perfect storm of catastrophes, a touch of hubris, and a lot of human ingenuity, and you get yourself deeper than ever. The button has been pressed, the world is in ruins. Will humanity figure out how to survive?

What is Antigravel? What did you think was the road-stop for man to explore the empty reaches of space? Faster than light travel? Interstellar navigation? Time dilation?

Puh. We beat all that by sheer force of will. No. It was micrometeoroids. Rocks. F--king space rocks.

You can touch any button, except THAT ONE!!!!

Saoulidis is one of those writers that should have been around during the era of the twilight zone. He'd have fit right in that era. This is one of those types of stories I could see Sterling smoking a cigarette and saying, "Imagine a time when man's arrogance outstripped his cautiousness . . ."

I love short cautionary tales like this, in which a man's reach exceeds his grasp. The best part is the scientist's punishment for all the death and destruction he has caused. That is pure Twilight Zone. The story itself is smart, and well paced and will leave you wondering about mankind's ability to adapt to new situations.

Greg Young's narration is very well done and he makes it seem like it is his story that he is telling, and not simply reading from a script. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Fantastic short

There was a lot conveyed in this short story. The world was brought to life by the author and narrator in a way that made you want to keep listening. I was given a free copy of this audio in return for an unbiased review.

I LIKED IT!

I liked it although I thought the first one was a lot more fun! The narration was good. The author did a good job with the characters. I look forward to reading more from this author. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Imaginative

This is the sixth book/story I’ve read/listened to by this author and I have a long list of his books waiting.
This one is an imaginative, short listen.
I like the moon quake experiments and attempts to counteract them. It had an unfortunate result however.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Greg Young ) and I would listen to another. He did well narrating this book With the right amount of dramatic flair.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.
