About this listen

A wagon train of pioneers is struggling Westward toward Oregon through the howling winter and a band of Arikara warriors are hot on their trail. Little do the Arikaras suspect that they're about to come face-to-face and gun-to-gun with a ferocious fight they never expected, courtesy of the wily mountain man called Preacher.

As Preacher struggles to bring the settlers to safety, he learns the real reason they were attacked and begins to suspect that the secrets they've been keeping equal a worse kind of danger. With treachery in the air, more Arikaras on the warpath and a deadly deep freeze bearing down, trust is a thing of the past and survival is the only thing that matters.

Performed by Mort Shelby, Richard Rohan, Terence Aselford, Colleen Delany, Ken Jackson, Nannette Savard, Michael Glenn, Eric Messner, Christopher Graybill, Andy Clemence, David Coyne, Karen Carbone, James Lewis, Tim Carlin, Cate Torre, Michael Replogle.

Not satisfied with this rendition

I Loved every one of these First Mountain Man books that were read by J Rodney Turner.
Changing the narrator completely changes Preachers personality!! I would Love to be able to listen to the entire First Mountain Man series if it is read by J Rodney Turner!!!!

Too much background noises.

I would have preferred hearing a narrator or actors voices but with less background noise. It was very difficult to understand at times. If audible had equalizer settings built in I could have possibly adjusted it to be tolerable but no such luck.

Preacher can't resist a pretty women

Once a pretty women bats those eye lashes and flash those blue eyes and touch that blonde hair Mountain Men just melt like snow. Now he's hooked into something he should've just rode by. Being a big hearted Mountain Men he know he had to help out even if it could get him killed. Thank God he had Dog with him.

Old ways are better

I’ve been listening to all of the first mountain man serious up to this point. They were done in the regular audio book fashion of having one person read them. This new full cast and music and what not is not a improvement in my opinion. Thinking I may just be reading the hard copy from now of this serious. Doesn’t seem as though audible is coming out with this serious In the old style.

Over Dramatized

The background was too loud, at times could not hear the readers. Prefer just one person reading the story

Good story; not thrilled with the performance

Do not like the graphic audio versions. I prefer to listen to the narration and picture it for myself. The audio special effects are too distracting.

Background music and effects too loud

J Turner’s renditions are much better as compared to this version. The sound effects were too loud and over shadowed the story telling aspect of the audio book.

Preacher's Journey

This is another great book in the life of Preacher. In this book Preacher is leading another wagon train and some Indians is after them. There is also an enemy of preacher working with the Indians. This is an action packed book. Very interesting and entertaining. This is a movie in your mind style of book with several narrators.(Dramatized). If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

Dramatized books

I do not like dramatized books. The only reason I listened to it so I can complete the series.
Please do not do any more of them
