Alex smh

I can’t be a fan of this book because I believe abuse and love do not belong in the same category. The first instance I could forgive, the second I cannot. I love the books by Ms. James but this one I just can’t get behind. Well on to book two. Susan Duerden is an amazing auditor, I could listen to her forever. Her talent is that great!

Just WOW!!!

This love story was EVERYTHING!!! I Can't wait to get started on the next one. Highly recommend!

Potent Pleasures

A lot of people have complained about the length, and yes, this plot did move at a snails pace. The author definitely chose to prolong the drama. I enjoyed it though I really wanted to throttle Alex. Honestly, he did not suffer enough. I do think the reader has a really good range of accents and differentiating voices, but the breathiness did get to be a little much at times.

This author is good but I'd never LOVED one of her books... Well, this is it. I love this one!

Cringeworthy!!!!!

I almost cried, laughed and could not stop listening!!!
Although I do think Alex was actually to much of a jerk to forgive and Charlotte didn't speak up for herself enough, and the fighting parts were too long....The book was absolutely amazing as well as the narration. And finally the last few minutes of the book gave me the confession I was waiting for the whole time!! Parts of the book I hated.... But the ending was worth it.

Engaging

Romance and drama . I had to give it a 5 for the performance and the story. I loved it.

What an idiot!

Alex was an idiot. Several times I wanted to stop listening. I have no idea why she continued to be so forgiving to a man with the worst temper I have seen in a romance novel. The narration was great as usual.

Aggravatingly Suspenseful.

I liked this story. Not really very romantic but a consuming read. Couldn't put it down be I wanted the idiot husband let his wife explain herself. I didn't like the way the husband called his wife names and then apologized and was promptly forgiven.

5 Wonderful stars

Great story, excellent narration and well worth the time to listen or read. This story is original, not your typical boy meets girl, there is a chase, and the end. Potent Pleasures actual has layers and depth. The characters are well formed and you’ll find yourself giggling and even cursing at times, but it is an absolutely wonderful listen. Susan Duerden is a top notch narrator!

Wonderful romance.

Loved it. Great performance by Susan Duerden. My first Eloisa James book. Will read more.
