About this listen

Chase: The last thing I'd ever want to do is let my team down. After overcoming my bad-boy reputation, I was dominating on the ice. But things aren't going so well this season, and even my parents think I'm partying again. Now I'm really worried about my career. The only bright spot in my life is the Twitter flirtation I've struck up with pop princess Jordyn Banks. Turns out she's a huge hockey fan - and she's willing to wager a date on her favorite team....

Jordyn: Even though I'm an LA fan now, I've always had a soft spot for the Aces, since I grew up in Chicago. Then I lose a bet to Chase Hartman, and suddenly I'm up close and personal with a pro athlete who's anything but soft. Not only is Chase the hottest guy I've ever met, he's secretly super sweet. As if I had time for a relationship...yeah, right. But when I suddenly have nothing but time on my hands, he's the only one who understands. Now, with both of our careers at stake, Chase is tempting me to put my heart on the line too.

Contains mature themes.

Great story; real emotion

I loved everything about this book! You could hear and feel the vulnerability of the characters. I loved the narrators.

Loved this story of not feeling good enough to finding what unconditional love really is

Playing hurt

This was a good story. I liked the banter, the chemistry, and of course the outstanding narrators. Alexander Cendese is one of my favorites, I love his enthusiasm, and his ability to bring characters to life.

Fantastic job on this book

Ok I will freely admit this. I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book. That's because I dont like it when my hockey boys get hurt. But when Chase bet Jordan a date on the outcome of a game I was sold. These two go together like a hand & a glove. Their story was funny, with deep moments that let's a reader feel their struggles and their strengths. It's a great read.

Love story and characters

I read this book first and wanted to try the audio version. Good narrators but the male narrator cannot do a female voice well. I kept think it was a whiny little kid. otherwise I liked it.

Good book. Weak leading man.

Good grief! He just kept walking out on her. Walked out on her with zero discussion twice in a 6 month period. One minute they’re happy the next minute he’s unreasonable and mentally unreachable, walking out and leaving her crying in the hall. Even at the end of the book not one time did he consider the pain he had caused her. Selfish guy.

A bit juvenile

Bummer there were barely any connections to the other Aces we’ve followed along with throughout the series. The story is a bit juvenile. That on again off again emotional immaturity was cringey for a 25-yr old to be doing. It read more as YA than an adult romance (besides the spice)..but even that was more juvenile than sexy.
