About this listen

Danny Marshal has always lived his life out loud, but his androgynous appearance is only a small part of who he is. One night at a frat party, Danny meets Lance Lenard, football jock and apparent straight guy. Lance is shocked when he's immediately attracted to Danny's feminine side. Danny is happy to be the subject of Lance's first man-on-man experiment--until Lance begins to struggle with the fact that despite his appearance, Danny is indeed a man.

Lance's whole life has been focused on his goal of playing in the NFL, and he knows those dreams will be smashed if anyone finds out about his little secret. Although Lance has grown to crave Danny's touch, he's not willing to give Danny what he's grown to crave: a boyfriend who's proud to love him for every flamboyant and snarky cell in his body.

Life sends Danny and Lance in different directions, each of them focused on his respective plan A. But the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

Love the story but the the narrator, not so much

Where does Plan B rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoy SJD Peterson books and this is one of my favorites.

What didn’t you like about Andrew McFerrin’s performance?

I did not like it that much and its very hard to listen when he's Danny. He's very over the top and the habit of drawing out the words and talking so slow to make Danny this huge queen is so very irritating. When he's portraying Lance Andrew is tolerable.

Good addition to the m/m genre

Finally, Audible is getting the good m/m romance books in their archives! This was a good story... I have the book...so I new what to expect... I still didn't like the football player... he just comp out to me... in book format and audiobook format! I am glad about the happy ending...

SJD Peterson has some really great m/m romance stories... so I hope Audible invest in getting all of Peterson books on here... I want PUP to be narrated so badly... It's Peterson's best book...

Anyway... this is a good credit or sale for any m/m romance fan...

Nice narration... you can totally tell the difference between the two male (H)... so it was narrated not read...which was plus!

Very entertaining, good narrator, good story!

What other book might you compare Plan B to and why?

Not sure, anyone where a football jock falls for a "queen"

Have you listened to any of Andrew McFerrin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

If you could rename Plan B, what would you call it?

I would not rename it!

Great Listen!

Would you listen to Plan B again? Why?

Yes, I would listen to Plan B again and again because the story was so well written and the narrator also did a very good job!

What did you like best about this story?

The overall story of "forbidden" love at least it was forbidden for "Lance" in the beginning.

What does Andrew McFerrin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I felt that Mr. McFerrin captured Danny's and Lance's personalities in a very extraordinary way. I read previous reviews and some listeners weren't very fond of Mr. McFerrin's voice or delivery but I feel he did a superb job!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes! I did not see the twist coming regarding Danny's and Lance's first "real" sexual experience. I was blown away, it was brilliant!

Any additional comments?

I absolutely loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone!

Completely Character Driven story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it's fantastic!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Danny. He is a full on diva bitch and wears those high heeled boots with style and class!

Which scene was your favorite?

The last one, can't say more, no spoilers.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sultry, Sexy and Brooding.

Any additional comments?

Danny Marshall is all about the bright lights and the big city. Openly gay, effeminate, eccentric, self assured, loud and comfortable in his own skin. His dream is to see his name on the manifest headlining a broad way show. His best friend and roomie drags him along to a frat party one night because he needs a wingman. For the first time possibly ever, Danny is struck speechless when he meets the slightly drunk and brooding guy with the steel grey eyes. Turns out tall, delicious and weird is actually the twin brother of Beau’s new girlfriend, Danny’s best friend. And he’s straight, oh joy.

Lance Lenard has had a quiet attraction for guys who like to display their feminine side, but he’s never really acted on it because of the implications and consequences. His dream is to play in the NFL, and he can’t do that if he’s gay. So he’s been playing it straight, until now. From the minute he lays eyes on Danny, he’s toast. Lance fights the attraction for about five minutes, then he sets out to get to know Danny. And Danny has no problem at all being Lance’s experimental friend with benefits. Until emotions grow intense and get in the way, which is something neither guy is used to.

Danny is a full on, diva, queen, bitch when he wants to be. And Lance loves this about him for the most part. He even texts him, “good morning grumpy” everyday, and orders him coffee and chocolate chip muffins because Danny sometimes forgets to eat. Danny promised himself he wouldn’t fall for Lance from the start, and that line is becoming very blurry. As well Lance loves spending time with Danny and the two are very passionate and loving when they are together, but it seems when Lance really remembers Danny is a guy, sometimes it gets in the way.

How do you successfully move from friends and just lovers to something more when both men have their heels dug in about their future? What happens when what you thought you wanted may not be exactly what you need? After an intense break up Lance follows Danny to his 21st birthday celebration and kisses him, on the mouth, in public. They share a very heated and sexy night only for Lance to wake up the next morning alone. Danny walks away, and Lance lets him. So several years later when these two are given a second chance at love and the opportunity to change their plans, will they? Or will time, distance and still bruised egos get in the way of what could be a very happy ever after.

I have one word for this book, to sum it all up in a nutshell, Flawless! The story is told from Danny’s POV, but when Lance is involved his feelings and emotions come through completely as well. The reader gets a front row seat to this epic love story from start to finish. Every bump, bruise and orgasm! At times they were nerve racking with their shared stubborn tendencies. I seriously wanted to climb into the story and bang their heads together and scream “Would you stop it!”! But oh my god, when they got it right, they got it right.

Narrated by Andrew McFerrin and it took me about thirty minutes to get comfortable with him. Danny is a diva and McFerrin hit the nail on the head. Whether it was Danny being cocky and self assured or miserable and condescending, it was delivered flawlessly, much like the story. Lance was so unsure of his feelings for and the relationship with Danny until the night of Danny’s birthday, that was when the flip literally switched for him. And then Danny bailed, and McFerrin captured the misery in Lance’s voice when they talked after that. My heart was breaking for these guys.

I will say that they do get their HEA in the end and just like everything else with these two, they had to work for it. That consistency flows throughout the entire story. This is a must read for any fan of the genre, especially hopeless romantics that love a good tear jerker and some hot, sweaty guy on guy action.

not bad

pretty good story. narrator kept going back and forth with how the main character sounded. one minute he sounded like a big queen and the next he didn't. other than that I liked it. really hope there is a follow up to the story.

Narration Gone Wrong

The story itself is 5-stars. But its the first time listening to an audiobook that the narration bothered me so much, it brought down the rating dramatically. If I hadn't agreed to review the audio book for the publisher, I would've switched to eBook. I'm a HUGE fan of Jo Peterson but I might just stick with reading her books instead of listening. Sticking to Plan A -and reading it on ebook- would've been a better choice.

Not sure I like this one?

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It is rare that I dislike the MC and this time, I found Danny rather annoying in what could have been a nice story

Could you see Plan B being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No - although there is nothing wrong about a series similar to this plot

Any additional comments?

It might be the narration but it made the MC come out as a total selfish person sometimes. I have the book version which I started reading a while ago then stopped. I am not sure if it is worth revisiting after this. Too many other books to read.
